Gearbox gives some hints about a new Borderlands DLC photo

While there is yet to be an official announcement regarding future DLC for Borderlands, Gearbox level designer Jason Reiss made an interesting post to the company's message board today with at least one bit of info that's sure to make fans of the game happy. Yes, the level cap will be increasing and, according to Reiss, "it's awesome."

He goes on to say that it's "the biggest DLC" yet, which will be nice for those who thought Zombie Island of Dr. Ned was a bit on the brief side.

Wonderful news, I say. I've been really impressed with the speed of delivery on content for Borderlands and am looking forward to yet another reason to get my team together and blow sh*t up. Increasing the cap doesn't interest me too terribly much, but I'm hopeful they add more to that than just additional skill points.

Moxxi was a bit of a letdown for me, and Zombie Island was far too easy for a level 50. I'm weary of buying more DLC, even if it finally raises the mfkn cap. I hope it's story based instead of a horribly long arena battle.

More Borderlands is always a good thing. Always.

what more could they add?

maybe custom guns where you pay(using in game money of course) for parts or maybe find parts dropped by enemies and use them to increase stats or add reload or ammo bonuses and also elemental damage etc. now that would be cool.

I think I've played borderlands every day since release, even if it was just to do some weapon farming in New Haven. Needless to say, I crave a level cap increase like a bong full of BC bud.

Sure, I'd love to start a new game with another character and go beyond the cap. I think I'm tired of my level 50 Hunter (my only level 50).

I hope it includes the Lance Company somehow, or at least new military enemies. And... I allways wanted to use the combat shield the Defenders had; Who knows, if the planets are properly aligned these days I could run lucky. :-)

Well its about time. And please, zombie skins add-on wasn't that impressive to change gameplay strategies. Not enough enemies at once I say. They've done a good job to keep interest in the game and I hope they add more to the story ending and the new enemies can be carried over to normal game areas. There will probably be some racing since a mission asks you to clean up a race track. I'm shooting for 10 hours of new gameplay.

I wonder how that's going to work for people who have glitched their character.

Honestly, I don't want them to stop at just ten. If this really is going to be bigger than anything they've done so far, I would shoot for 15 hours or something, or maybe that's just me being very optimistic. Still, the next DLC should be long. They're doing great so far, so I have no doubt it'll be good. I just want to enjoy it for a while.

Fix the PC version first please. I'd love it if more than 1 in 10 games actually worked properly.

Loved zombie island. Didn't buy the Moxxi dlc cause I like to lone gun it. Hopefully this offers a more traditional format.

Still haven't finished a full arena in Moxxi's....stuff just keeps comming up and I have to ditch out of the game. If you could somehow get a save after several waves or something it would be much more PLAYER friendly.

A level increase could be interesting. I have yet to complete a 2nd playthru with any character, so that would definately give me an incentive to return ot Pandora...loves me some Borderlands!!

Love this game. My favorite of 2009 for sure. Moxxi is freaking hard by yourself. Luckily my friends in Seattle FINALLY started playing this game so once they get their levels up we can do moxxi together.

Also Confirmed...giant purple crab bosses! And the next update will fix several of the glitches and tweaks from the game. The developers keep dropping dlc bombs over at the borderlandsguide.com forums!
