Thanks to loose-lipped retailers, we already knew that a Borderlands Game of the Year edition was headed our way. Today, 2K Games and Gearbox have confirmed its existence, dropping the full details on the retail package, which will hit stores on October 12.
As expected, the box will come with the core game as well as a handful of post-release add-ons. And by "a handful" I mean all of them. The disc will come with download tokens for "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned," "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot," "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx," as well as the upcoming "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution." On top of that, expect the package to come with a "complete and comprehensive map of the Borderlands territories." You know, so you can plan your road trips.
It'll run you $59.99 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and $49.99 for Windows PC. Sounds like a great deal for folks who haven't had a chance to experience Gearbox's awesome shooter.

You bet I'll be getting the new DLC though. <3
But once this package goes into the 30 euros range I may be tempted.
A nice, one-sentence pitch will do. I missed out on Borderlands while waiting for Dragon Age, I think.
Why hasn't anyone done what bethesda did with fallout.
Usually when you buy a game of the year you don't hav xbl or don't want to have to download from the matketplace
A First Person Shooter RPG with Cel shaded graphics of a barren wasteland. also there are vehicles you can ride.
And Fun can only be describe by yourself, I say Demo/Rent it if possible.
May be a Christmas buy.
Wait.., online vouchers? This shit again?
Nevermind. Sale -1
the reason i wait years for a goty edition to come out is because i want a HARD COPY of the dlc.
digital distribution = poo
What the fuck is this shit?
As opposed to a linux, unix, or freeBSD PC I suppose.
I understand that's a lot of DLC, but damn. Do they really think there are that many people are willing to pay $60 for it that still don't own it...?
Actually, this is pretty much following in the footsteps of Fallout and Little Big Planet, both games with full priced GotY editions and yes, both of them were well worth it.
I mean, you're going to be getting the full game plus $40 of DLC. Also, LBP:GotYE dropped in price pretty quickly, so it shouldn't be long before this one drops by $20 or so.
That stuff won't likely even be available for re-download in five years. That means it's virtually useless to a retrogamer in the future who would be wanting to collect this stuff now to play on the 350 LATER ON.
If this is "the future" then the future sucks and it isn't worth buying. So fuck the idiots who think this lazy ass shit is the future and fuck the stupid little cunts like you that mindlessly cheer them on.
I love borderlands and I would say it was my goty last year but gearbox fucked up badly with the last dlc. Unles they add a new level cap and a new play through I wouldn't suggest anybody buy the game.
Once conpleted there is only one area in one dlc that's has replay value. Everywhere else on the 2 other dlcs and the entire main game is underlevelled, there's no useful loot or worthy opponents left to fight and the game becomes pointless.
It hurts to say that because I do LOVE this game but I wouldn't spend the cash until gearbox announce a fix for it.
you can probably sell your original disc for more than $10.
