I will not be posting online what I will do, because then I'll get caught lol
Thanks Gearbox for being another company that has earned communities love and respect. You've made a great game, keep doing that, and keep being the amazing company you are.
That was one of my first thoughts, too. Duke Nukem what? I don't know what game that is. WINK. Good on ya, Gearbox. Good on ya.
It's very moving, and I think anyone who sees it will agree that its not just a PR thing. But a genuine expression from the guys at Gearbox.
Keep crying you big babies.

Well I gotta go turn in some reports to some company calling themselves "EA". Wonder what they'll do with the info though...
Paragon Studios did something similar with Coyote in the Outbreak Zone in City of Heroes; one of their beta players died before the game was released, so he was memorialised in the form of a super-useful NPC.
That 'Tribute to a Vault Hunter' achievement though...tears.
Can't wait to meet my new buddy in Sanctuary! Well done Gearbox! Keep it up and you have a customer and fan for life right here <3
Strictly from a business standpoint, Gearbox would've been stupid to not take advantage of the PR opportunities that could stem from their recent good deeds.
If you just want some good PR, you cut a check to a charity and hold a press conference. Simple and done.
You don't allocate precious manhours coding and doing voicework for a proposal vid or a single NPC just in the hopes of getting sales, you do it because you feel it's for a good cause and worth your time. The good PR is just a bonus
Michael John Mamaril was a mighty, mighty man. And I, for one, can't wait to meet him!!! HUZZAH!!!
And check my comment history, I've been all about Borderlands since release day of the first. It's an outstanding game IMO and I think it's worth more of my money/time than anything Acridvision, Crapcom, Ubicrock or any of those other shamelessly greedy bastards will be putting out.
