Gearbox boss reconfirms more Borderlands DLC photo

You've survived the homicidal waves of Madd Moxxi's Underdome. You've obliterated the ghouls living on the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. You've explored General Knoxx's Secret Armory. So what's next for Borderlands? More downloadable content, of course!

Previously mentioned by the game's publisher, 2K Games, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has confirmed that the wait for the next add-on for its cooperative loot-a-thon is not in vain. It's still coming.

"I get a lot of questions about more DLC for Borderlands. Yes, more is coming," he wrote on his Twitter account before adding, with a smiley emoticon (which means he's serious about this), "Let's talk soon."

Gearbox recently re-opened its Twitter account for General Knoxx where the fictional character (or is he?) wrote "tap. tap. is this on? had to turn my tweetergramming machine back on. just got some new orders. (sent from the future.)"

What does it all mean!?

There is a second Vault you must unlock containing Gearbox's Anthony Burch's beard. That's the DLC.

Yeah this is good and all but Aliens: Colonial Marines would be much, much better. Hint hint, Gearbox.

I swear the game was created as a vessel to sell droves of DLC. A few more pieces in and you'll have paid for Borderlands 2.

Yeah, I'm pretty dissapointed in Gearbox for essentially selling me half the game for 60 bucks then expecting me to buy the rest of it in pieces. I love borderlands to death, but I refuse to take part in this dlc bullshit, it really pisses me off.

The sense of entitlement people like you have is exactly what is wrong with the comment section on websites like destructoid.

Funny, I played the game with one character and it took me about 30 hours to beat the game. The Zombie Island DLC took me about 4 hours and the General Knoxx DLC took me about 5-6 hours. I don't have any complaints about Gearbox selling me half the game for $60 if it took me 30 hours to play through it on Normal.

If you compare the price of the DLC in comparison to a movie, you are still getting a good deal... Call me crazy, I've been very happy with the content so far.

I've enjoyed the dlc so far, so I'll probably enjoy whatever comes next. I'm hoping they'll stop soon, though, and make a proper sequel. New content is fine, but I'd like to see some changes and improvements to the core mechanics. More insane variety in the weapons, for one thing (they were hyped up that 'any gun can do anything!', and it turns out that no, no they can't. My one disappointment from an otherwise fantastically fun game).
Also it would mean that they could set up the teleporter systems better so when they do borderlands 2 dlc, you dont get one damn teleporter for the whole freaking dlc zone. It makes them immensely frustrating at times.

How about they confirm a patch, not only for the modded weapons and shields, but you know the fact that the entire main game world is pointless with the add-on increased level cap.

Not that it matters much to you, but folks at Gearbox were working on this DLC way past the game's release. This wasn't a matter of them holding out content or pulling any out.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but i don't see how thats a sense of entitlement. The game's concept was sold to players with the features of great gear and fun to play with friends, and in return the actual product was a buggy, easily hackable multiplayer experience folllowed by DRM (at least, pc side) enriched DLC that causes leveling issues with the main game areas.

Augh. On the one hand, I'm happy that a game I enjoy so much is going to be extended even further. On the other hand, I've already got 1500/1500 Gamerscore from this game. Don't take away my 100% completion with more DLC!

I have no problems with this. I will gladly pay some more for some more of a game that I enjoyed. It also helps that I only paid $34 or something like that for it initially (Steam presale 4-pack FTW).

None of the Borderlands DLC felt like stripped away parts of the original game in the slightest. The game was worth its price. If this DLC gets good reviews, then I will buy it. If the Borderlands Story had a bit more depth, then it would have been a GotY contender. Still, the humor was really good, so I hope that continues.

What? Seriously, what the hell did you just say?

Even without the dlc, vanilla borderlands was a huge game. I don't know how anyone can complain about gearbox.

Yeah, they haven't fixed the fact that General Knoxx messes with the end game difficulty but the fact that people are still modding weapons but they isn't a big problem.....just don't accept weapons from ransoms online. Problem solved.

Borderlands was one of the most refreshing and fun games released last year and a total blast with friends. Gearbox can have all money for borderlands DLC.

modding isnt a big problem? you must be playing it on console or something, because on the PC version its rampant. We are talking guns that crash peoples games and servers when fired. That plus the new Stat boosting items and your likely to have you hard worked on save corrupted by the cheaters. Not that i hate modding, but I refuse to play online with anyone but friends until its addressed.

@Leon Field

Perhaps we interpereted the comment in a different manner. I took his statement as not only a question on content but the issues involving the lack of certain patches to the main game as well as the issues involving multiplayer, since most people on MP will only play Knoxx areas due to the level/loot cap problem with the main game, this does essentially become the necessary second half of the game, unless of course you bought it for singleplayer/lan value.

Modding isn't a problem if you play with friends. I said that in my initial post so we agree. And it's no great loss to play with friends :)

Funny he didn't mention any of the stuff you "interpreted". Don't project your own opinion into the posts of others.

Also modding is not a big issue with the game when you play with friends, which if we are honest is how it should be done.

Borderlands is crack. It's a lot more fun than it should be given how repetitive it is but it never gets old. I'll gladly plop down another $10 for more DLC. I've gotten more play out of Borderlands and it's add-ons than most games I've ever played. All they need to do is fix those damn bugs. The original game was buggy enough but Knoxx was broken. That armory glitch spread like wildfire online. If I didn't have an old save file backed on on my harddrive I would've had to do the entire thing over.

Ironic that statement is coming from someone who called him a Self entitled Jerk. You dont know what his real opinion is either because he didnt discuss it in detail, he just basically said he felt ripped off. Perhaps you would like to come back and make that statement when you get him to clarify his point more.

And modding IS a big issue of the game, regardless if your playing with friends or not. I've had plenty of friends have to throw out their hours-spent campaigns because other "friends" decided to tamper with their saves via modified weapons and stat multipliers. When you can make a gun that lags and crashes a game instance on someones computer, dont tell me modding is not a big issue.

Your choice of friends seems fine but your friends choice of friends is questionable.

Pick who you play with well and you will have no problems. Seems to me you're fighting for the fightings sake. Common sense says you don't pick up shit in this game if it doesn't seem legit.
A sniper rifle that fires 39 bullets a second, has a damage rating of over 10k per shot and uses all 4 elements at once is a mod and will fuck your system.
Common sense bro, makes your complaint negligible.

You can say play with good friends all you want, and I would agree, but the problem still remains and it is still a big issue. Not a whole lot of my friends still play the game, so it limits my options to risking the online multiplayer. You dont have to pick up the rocketlauncher that shoots 50 missles a second to feel the effects of one asshole who is using it to lag out others, nor do you have to pick up the rifle with insane elemental damage to witness what could have been a perfectly epic boss battle 1 hit killed by someone who just wants to ruin other peoples fun. I'm really left with no other option multiplayer wise because of this.

Funny enough ZRB he did give enough of his opinion to show what a whiny self entitled ass hat he is. Again and again when ever DLC thats cost money is discussed you always get the same kind of people complaining the game is half finished and that they aren't paying for the rest of the game. Not everything should be free and after buying Borderlands and playing it for so long people who say this about it do just like Jerks with serious self entitlement issues.

Again, it all depends on how interpret what he said. He could mean its half finished based on content (actual content) or he could say its half finished based on the bugs/issues it has that seem to go unchecked. It can go either way, and I really dont see the big deal about wanting them to patch issues with the main game. I myself dont plan on getting knoxx until i see the leveling issue get resolved, and theres plenty of people out there who have but Gearbox on their shit list from the modding/multiplayer quest issues (hell, last time i looked at the official borderlands forums there was some 30-40 pages of comments on the leveling issues. Consequentially issues such as the level scaling lock players who get it into really only replaying the DLC areas with the high character. Add this problem with multiplayer and you get a rift in which you pretty much HAVE to get the DLC to play with high leveled people online, and thats not even including the other MP issues.Alot of this could be avoided if they simply said something like "we are planning the patch" or "we are looking into it" but instead it goes silent until the next DLC.I can see where your coming from, but the fact that borderlands needs some polish is certainly unavoidable and true.

Maybe you should read my points before telling me to read. Even if he is, you have no idea for what particular reason he feels that way. Considering high levels are forced to be in DLC areas due to leveling/difficulty scaling issues you pretty much HAVE to get the DLC in order to find a Multiplayer game in the high levels, thus making you have to PURCHASE it due to a issue with the main game.
