- A couple of family mini games
- A tweaked level of LittleBigPlanet
- SOCOM 4 controls similar to Metroid Prime 3/RE 4 Wii Edition
- A non- 1:1 based motion control fighting game
- A dull motion control brand name. Even SixAxis was a cooler name.
- Colorful dildo-like motion controllers with a nunchuck attachment
Sorry, I'm not impressed.
what else can they do no control idea taken and the other idea taken why can't they do there own take on the wii mote where we might actually get games for people like me like socom and hopefully some more ( hopefully they do it more with hardcore games and not to much of that crappy motion party thingy they have)
How the hell would it work through Blutooth? Blutooth as you appearly are not away only transmit data it doesn't detect motion at all. Which is why you need a visual medium (Eyetoy), that's also why it has a ball at the end. Many movie capturing technology uses the same technique, you'll see little balls all over a suit for instance.
@xaq404 Technically Eyetoy came out for PS2 first and used motion capturing aka MOTION CONTROL before Wii, and originality is over rated anyway. Anyone inventing anything is going to get this slapped in their face, came up with a new story? IT'S ON PAPER, UNORIGINAL, FAIL! Use digital, NO, THATS BEEN DONE TOO, NOOO!!
Technically the point is this is more HARDCORE, Wii is a little loose, I mean you have to pick up a classic controller to play half the games on it. It's still mostly a gimmick.
Here it is 100% accurate less than a frame off. Able to shoot people with it able to attack with it.
You can naysay all you want but clearly this is going to be in alot of games. Socom 4 is already one.
Overall, a boring press event, but good for Sony because the Arc.
How can I say this?
Why do the balls all have to be such bright colors? I don't want all these bright balls. Can't you just make them black like the rest of the thing? Y'know, normal, black balls.
But if the whole package, EyeToy included, is more than 50 bucks, you can promptly count me out of this equation. I don't have room for all the shit involved with this, nor the space to waggle in.
Well, I tried.
The gaming hardcore don't care about waggle, and casual fans are going to stick with what's popular. If anything, it may push Nintendo towards releasing a Wii HD sooner rather than later, but that's about it.
The balls being bright and intense is part of the way it's implemented. It's bright and intense so the eye can pick it up and give you 1-1 control. It's a pity they're such intense colours but it looks fun and bright. It'll look cool at night too with friends and stuff.
I'm a bit of a sucker for motion controls, sure I get sick of them fast but sometimes I just want to waggle.
The original design was widely criticized for looking like a sex toy, but the nun-chuck design looks more like a sex toy than that even.
I can see it now:
"Hey mommy, did you see my Move controller?"
"Mommy's using it right now. And don't forget to wash it before you start playing, it's dirty."
Designing you input devices with alterior functions is a very fast way to generate a stigma about you devices.
The sub controller looks... Wow, it actually looks really good. And thank God, wireless!
Move is to Arc like Wii is to...?
(hint: Revolution)
Why are codenames always better then the ACTUAL names they end up picking? At this rate, Natal will be "Frantic Arm Waving Recognition Device (tm)"
You know what, Iīm really excited about this motion control device! :-)
Oh wait... that was in 2006...
That's a bit worrying. Is the 'controller' just the move, or the move and 'sub-controller'? They also showed games using two move controllers, how much is that going to set you back?
By comparison, natal at a rumoured $50 price point, with two player support built in, could seem like a bargain, especially if Sony can't make the move seem like more than just a wiimote clone.
