At its GDC press conference today, Sony revealed two PlayStation Move game collections, Sports Champions and Move Party.
Sports Champions (working title) looks to be a sports-style game collection. Two games were shown off -- "Gladiator Duel" and "Table Tennis." "Gladiator Duel" is a one-on-one third-person fighter where you'll use two PS3 Move controllers -- one for shield, and one for sword (or in this case, a large hammer) controls. The one-to-one controls allow for what looked like relatively precise movements. "Table Tennis" was exactly what it sounds like... you play table tennis.
"Move Party" (working title) is another mini-game collection that uses "augmented reality" to put players "in the game." (How's that for buzz phrases?) Players will use the EyeToy camera to take pictures of themselves for an in-game icon, using the microphone to record a voice sample as well. We saw a few mini-games, each of which put a different object in the hands of the player, who appeared on the screen holding the item. A few games were shown off -- the player uses a racket to swap flies, a paint brush to paint shapes, and a fan to blow birds into nests.
From what I'm seeing here, these look like enhanced versions of things we've already seen on the Nintendo's Wii. Sony's giving us a chance to get our hands on it later, so we'll let you know how it feels once we get it in our hands.
I think it's looking pretty rad so far, but I need to see if motion controls can be used well outside the Nintendo zone.
Move Sports
Move Fit
Move Sports Resort
Move Music
Anyone notice a trend?
what i want
fallout 3 so i can aim with vats using it
killzone 2 and resistance
ratchet and clank with that support
a star wars game would be cool
just not to much of stuff like motion part looks lame kind of like your in the movies or wii music type of lame
The first title that I know of is Move Party, Little Big Planet, Eye Pet 2, Socom 4.
Oh I know it takes time to get baked, I just hope third party developers learn from the past and try to be a bit more creative.
Seriously, I'm hoping Sony and Microsoft have some much more impressive stuff to show at E3.
Also...
"Move Party
Move Sports
Move Fit
Move Sports Resort
Move Music
Anyone notice a trend?"
...I lol'd.
Also, Epic 'Fro Man in header.
"Netroid" would rule too.
A)They start whinning/complaining that Sony has allowed waggle and casuals into their H4RDC0R3 PS3 experience and ruined it.
B)Hypocritically praise Sony for smartly adding (read:blatantly copying) motion control to their H4RDC0R3 PS3 experience, overlooking the 4 years they mocked the Wii as a kid's toy and called it a passing fad.
Just not really exciting for me.
As for this, maybe if it comes with the controller, but I'm not buying it separately. So far, I don't think anything will top Wii Sports Resort.
The graphics don't even look all that good, so its not like they can even use the whole "its like a Wii, but in beautiful HD" argument either. Well Good luck Sony, because you can copy Nintendo all you want, but you're not going to get the sale that they have. You won't even come close to it!
Really not seeing the logic here.
By god, not a single thing displayed here is original and ground breaking.
Fair play for Sony trying to catch the casual Market but let's be honest, there's nothing here that you can't already get from a wii and If you like these sorts of games then chances are you already own a wii (that's substantially cheaper than the ps3) that's proven to be the winner of this gaming trend.
Who wants to spend hundreds of pounds/dollars for a HD version of the wii?
Not I said the wolf.
*gasps for air*
MUHAHAHAHHAHHHAHAHAHAHAH!
A nice ton of shovelware for me, please!
I sold my wii some time ago, thanks lord that I don't have a PS3 to!
You know what, I´m really excited about this motion control device! :-)
Oh wait... that was in 2006...
SOLD!
