As long as Steam weekend madness offers the game for $1.99 til' December, i'm good. I bought the 1st game on Steam for that price and oh man. Paid off. Love the game and it felt like a steal... didn't finish yet tho. Loving it, loving, loving it.

That just means we can probably just use arrows/dpad in addition to a cursor to control Guybrush, like in the recent Tales of Monkey Island games. I more than welcome this.

The direct control will work much better for the console versions, point and click with a pad is awful. I would imagine standard point and click controls will remain for those that prefer them.

If I had known they were coming to the PS3 I would have waited instead of buying it on my brother's 360. Oh well, I guess it's not that expensive, it's not the end of the world if I have to buy it again.

If it's an option then fine, but if I am playing an adventure game I want mouse only controls. The new MI episodes kind of screwed that up already, and the first SE had a sort of console-ish interface, so this worries me.

Hope they spend some time working on this one. The first SE was a horrible rush job. It takes some real talent to make 1920x1200 graphics that have less detail than the original 320x200 ones. Honestly some of the stuff, like the Melee island map, look like they've been done in 10 minutes in Illustrator. MI2's background graphics were made by scanning actual paintings, I hope they just rescan those this time.
Also, using the subtitles spoiled the timing of the jokes and the new UI was so cumbersome you basically had to use the old UI for the timed puzzles.

YEAAAAHHHHHHHHH! MI:2 may be my favorite of the series. I bought an XBLA an steam version of the first SE and I'll do the same for this.
i fucking hate what happened to monkey island. as soon as they started remaking them with new graphics the magic got sucked out, and by the time it ended up in 3D it just wasn't monkey island any more.
so, I never played the MI games, but it seems lots of people around here love them. I was talking to an old friend a few days ago, and he asked me if I played them. He said they were a lot like Legend of Kyrandia, which we used to play and I loved. Is this true? If so, it moves from my list of games to look into to my list of must haves.
