GDC: James Gunn on making Lollipop Chainsaw
Max Scoville caught up with super famous movie director James Gunn where they talked about everything Lollipop Chainsaw. It's a really revealing interview as we get to see that James was all about working on the project. I was especially surprised by how the script was pretty much all done by James himself. Between James' writing, Akira Yamaoaka's music and Suda 51's gameplay, I think Lollipop Chainsaw is going to turn out amazing. Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)What a great interview. I disagree that you need to look to games like Myst to try to justify games as art. Space invaders, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Asteroids are as much art as any Jackson Pollock (or insert name of choice). This was worth my time. I'm always thrilled to hear someone so passionate about their work talk about it. Especially when it's about cheerleaders with chainsaws. James Gunn is good at what he does and I think he legitimately just tries to have fun with what he is writing. He knows this type of genre well and never doubted his involvement would do anything other than make the game a better experience. I wish he wrote more movies. Slither still hold up as one of the best modern pokes at the horror sci fi genre. I am looking forward to this game. 6:30 PM on 06.18.2012 Here are our Lollipop Chainsaw contest winners!Last week, we asked you to be our Dtoid cheerleaders in order to win a box full of Lollipop Chainsaw goodies.
