GDC Europe is taking place August 13-15, and is set to feature some wonderful talks by some of the industry's biggest voices. This will be the fourth year of the European focused Game Developers Conference, taking place right before gamescom, one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world.

Some of the key talks taking place will see Wargaming's CEO discuss free-to-play games, DICE's General Manager Karl Magnus talk "10 years of Battlefield/20 years of DICE," and a real-time demo of the Unreal Engine 4 by Epic Games. There is going to be over 100 sessions to check out.

Dale North and I will be attending both GDC Europe and gamescom so you can expect plenty of coverage on Destructoid. As for GDC Europe, what sessions are you actually interested in learning more about? I want you to tell us what sessions we should cover on Destructoid.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to the postmortem by Martin Hollis on Goldeneye 007. That game had such a huge impact on my life, and learning the history behind the whole project sounds amazing.

We can't see the new Doom yet, but it sounds like a return to form

Bethesda said its big reveal of Doom -- that is in fact "Doom," not "Doom 4" -- at QuakeCon would be for attendees only, not for us Internet ne'er-do-wells, but I still watched the QuakeCon stream like a sucker, anyway. When ...more

Nintendo's Comic-Con lineup includes Super Smash Bros., Hyrule Warriors

Nintendo is calling their San Diego Comic-Con lineup their biggest ever. To me it looks like they packed up their E3 showing and saved it for SDCC. That's great news as their E3 showing was fantastic.  They're back at th...more
