While Nintendo didn't quite reveal anything new at GDC (and we knew this before hand), they did come armed with new trailers of some of their most sought after games. Among these is this trailer for Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
Now I could get all fanboy over this -- start gushing about how I can't wait to play another solid Zelda adventure, and how Nintendo's touch screen innovations are going to take the franchise in a new, exciting direction that's going to blow my mind. I could also be a complete hater and resign myself to giving the game a review score of a four because, let's face it, this Zelda crap is getting old.
Or, I can just sit back and let you guys say all of that for me. Go to town.
it looks amazing. while i wasn't the biggest fan of the art style used in the wind waker, i am happy to see it come back for the ds. it seems more appropriate on this platform.
From afar, that game looks amazing! Pull in close though and it looks bad. But damn, the game looks really good for a DS game. In some scenes it gets close to the GC version, only a bit more blocky. Wow. Now I'm really anticipating this title.
Funny you should say that because I made a Mii that looks almost just like him. It's my favorite one.
I'm not much for the Wind Waker style (TP FTW!) but as was said earlier, it fits the DS. This is on the top of my DS wishlist and probably #2 for my wishlist for 2007 (#1 is Super Mario Galaxy). Of course I'm a Zelda freak so that's not surprising. It's icing on the cake that there seems to be some cool uses of the stylus.
I'm a HUGE zelda fan and i cant wait to play this, but i have to say....at the very end that closeup of link didnt look so hot. Heres hoping that they "tighten up those graphics" for the release.
I sold my ds fat and when I save up for the balance I'll get a lite. And though Zelda is my fav. franchise, I prob won't get this because I boycott the wind waker style. Ugly stupid link, stupid water overworld. Though I can't imagine anything other than this, or a 2D zelda for the DS.
oh man i forgot how kick ass that song is. i recognize it from "a link to the past" but i can't remember what area. i think it's from the first castle area where you start the game. that piece alone makes that trailer worth watching as far as i'm concerned.
Saying Zelda is getting old is just like saying any other series is getting old; it's a series because the games are similar. I think the trailer looks cool and I'll almost definitely pick this up because, even though cell-shaded Link isn't my favorite, this type of game is right up my alley.
I really want this game but I never played Windwaker. I really want to get Windwaker first because I don't like playing sequels to video games without playing the first game. Also, does anyone know the release date for it.
