When I was watching Sony's presentation for their motion sense enabled Move Party game this afternoon, I was kind of hung up on the person playing the game. She reminded me of someone, but I couldn't put my finger on who it was. It was almost to the point where I wasn't paying attention to the game. I still haven't figured out who she reminded me of, but for now, Amber Lamps makes a good stand-in. Can you see it? Maybe it's the leggings.
As for the demonstration, this looks like a mix of EyeToy game play with a wand-style controller. You'll see the controller take on other forms with some pretty slick overlays in the video. What you're getting here is some casual, family style gaming. Swatting bugs, drawing triangles, shaving heads. What do you expect from something called Move Party? I appreciate that they're showing off early Move tech, but I hope there's something a bit cooler up Sony's sleeve.
Maybe an Epic Beard Man fighting game?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
How so? I thought both this and Natal were going to be upgraded Eye Toys, with the added "bonus" of being able to talk to Natal games.
I don't see the resemblance but is there ever a bad time to reference Amber Lamps? I think not!
I can't wait until Sexualchocolate reads this sentence and compares it to what he's been saying about Natal all along. Something about a butterfly catching minigame?
Time to start spinning...
It's like we've never been down this road before and never saw what kind of fruit this tree provides.
I think the Move looks pretty cool and responsive. I'll try it.
Throw in a case of beer and some friends and this could be neat. Mario Party Wii still gets played a lot with alcohol and friends.
This particular game doesn't make use of depth perception at all and could probably be done with the eyetoy already so how is the Move controler even required in this game?
Notice, she was having a bit of trouble even clicking on the Play button to start the game... Why the heck could you not just press the button on the controller?
Also, I'm not sure why with all this technology they can't track here head and correctly zoom and frame her face for the picture and instead she has to step forward and position her face to take the picture. The same applied with recording her voice.
