GDC 09: EA Mobile announces a bunch of iPhone titles photo

Want to know where the old Electronic Arts went? Just check your Application Store throughout the year. At GDC this week, EA Mobile announced seventeen titles, all of which are slated for a 2009 release. Six of the titles are portable versions of Hasbro board games, the rest are familiar (and safe) EA properties.

The Hasbro properties coming are Battleship, Clue, Connect 4, Monopoly, Risk, and Trivial Pursuit. The EA properties include American Idol, Command & Conquer, FIFA Soccer, Madden NFL, Mystery Mania, NBA Live, Need for Speed, Spore Creatures, SSX, The Sims 3, and Wolfenstein RPG.

EA Mobile has previously announced a few of these titles, but hey, it’s an industry event. Announce big or go home, right?

I’m somewhat excited about Command & Conquer. Will it be a port of Red Alert or will we see a return of the NOD and GDI? Also, how in the hell is EA Mobile going to put an RTS as heavy as C&C on the iPhone? It’ll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Id say an iphone or touch could handle the first few C&C games pretty well, screen size would be the big issue. Luckily control would be great, im looking forward to seeing what happens with these.

Wolfenstein RPG? That sounds interesting. Maybe it'll be like Doom RPG.

Honestly, I'm excited for SSX. Not because I know it'll be good, but because this is proof that EA hasn't forgotten about the greatest snowboarding game franchise ever.
