Hey, remember that really God awful piece of sh*t trailer for the new Duke Nukem game from E3? Well, I finally got to see Duke Nukem: Critical Mass in action on both the PSP and DS last week.
The PSP version of the game is going to play out in 3D like the SOCOM games for the PSP. There will be sections where you’ll be flying around on a jetpack that’s equipped with a machine gun and it was impressive seeing how big of a draw distance the PSP version supported in the jetpack section. Expect plenty of multiplayer versus modes too.
The DS version is a 3D side scroller and the visuals are horrible. 3D games just don’t work on the DS. They’re pushing the DS to the limits with everything they’re putting into the game, but it’s hard to be impressed by that when the game’s visuals hurt your eyes. There will also be a two-player co-op mode for the DS version.
I'd like to end this post by saying that I find it absoultly hilarious that Critical Mass is coming out this Fall, long before Duke Nukem Forever.

Sadistic: Actually, considering what I've seen in other PSP games, yeah, that shit is fugly. Even if that was on par with other PSP games, I wouldn't want to play it. No gameplay can cover up for graphics that ugly. In this day and age, you shouldn't bother with 3D graphics unless they can at least look clean and respectable.
Not only are they technically bad, they are also just plain boring and generic imo.
When Duke Nukem came out for the 360 I bought it right away. I just hope Duke Nukem Forever is decent and that the creators don't try and make it something that it isn't.
I hope you're judging the DS version on the art direction, and not polygon count. There are plenty of DS games that look good in 3D, like Dementium. It just takes talent.

I really dont think the graphics for the PSP look at that bad, as a matter of fact I would say they are surprisingly good. Its no God Of War or Wipout mind you, but I have seen worse. But the DS game does look bad, really bad. In some of the screen shots for the DS game Duke looks so much like Johnny Bravo. I dunno maybe its just because how generic both of them portray the male persona but it seems to identical for my liking.
K. Sorry. But the GBA DukeNukem 3D Port / Spin off was a way better looking game then that POS. GAH. I love me some DukeNukem, but both of these games look awful and I refuse to support them.
It's bullshit that the DS can't have good looking 3D games. Maybe this one looks ugly, but New Super Mario Bros., Dementium/Moon, etc. would say that it's just this game, not the system.
