Gears of War

You already knew it was coming, but here it is anyway. Excuse the shaky cam action, but it was loud and red, and I scare easy.

Cliffy B rounded out this year's Microsoft keynote -- chainsaws-a-blazing -- at the 2008 Game Developers Conference with the announcement we all expected: Gears of War 2. He says to expect something "bigger and far more badass."

We didn't get to see much in the way of what GOW 2 will look like, but if the any of the new features and additions of the Unreal Engine are incorporated into the title, at least we'll know that it looks pretty.

We'll see it all in November!

Does that chainsaw clashing at the start hint to what I was saying? You can now block the chainsaw attack with chainsaw clashing. Whoever hits the A button the fastest wins the chainsaw battle

Say what you want about Dr. Cliffy Boa, but the man knows how to make an entrance. Now, as to the teaser trailer and his comments...

“Gears 2 is going to be bigger, better, and far more bad-ass than the first game, in every way.”

...but will it have a story worth caring about this time, as opposed to one that’s just an excuse to saw Locust soldiers in half?

I don't have a 360 (don't have much money to spare), but I played through Gears at a relative's house and I can definitely appreciate that game and get excited for a sequel.

GoW in my opinion had some of the best co-op ever.

I figured it out. I know how I feel about Cliffy B.

As a video game fan, he makes me feel the same way about my hobby as the Star Wars Kid would make me feel if I were a Star Wars fan. Honestly, guys. Those chainsaw moves behind the screen? "I'm off to kill some Locust, see you later?" Saying "rumors on the internets" our loud to people who aren't close friends? I just felt REALLY, REALLY EMBARRASSED watching that. I'm sure Cliffy B's a great dude, I'm sure Gears was a great game, and that teaser looked dope as fuck, but that was cringetacular.

It's slightly difficult to get excited for the 360 version after Epic slapped 360 players in the face over the PC version.
