This isn't shocking, but now it's official -- Insomniac Games has revealed that it's currently developing Resistance 3.
Announced at Sony's gamescom press conference today, the game was teased with a live-action trailer to get players hyped for the game's 2011 release. The game is in development at Insomniac's Burbank, California studio; earlier today, it was revealed that the North Carolina studio is hard at work on a new, cooperatively multiplayer Ratchet and Clank title.
"We've listened to your feedback to help fine-tune what we know will become a respected addition to the franchise," Insomniac said in its newsletter today.
Not much info on the game is known, but per the Statue of Liberty in the game's logo (pictured above), one can expect to see Chimera stomping all over the East Coast.

Also, is this the same logo as was seen on that movie set about a year and a half ago? I seem to remember the statue of liberty being involved in it somehow...
Looks good and hopefully they keep multiplayer the same as they did in R2 as my girl loved on online co-op as much as I did.
A Resistance with survivors instead of Soldiers will be very, very good. And if it got melee combat, thas would be awesome!!!

Actually no, in what way have even the past games copied others? Yes its a pretty generic fps, but at least the storyline is slightly different, the ending of resistance 2 was something i havent seen before, taking the main character from 1&2 and making him evil.....thats different. Also 'another overrated crap from insomniac'......where? Where is this overrated? Most of the coments on this are actually musing how they could improve on the previous games, or simply stating that they enjoyed the others. I cant see a single hypetastic comment hear. You have really fucking annoyed me.
