Might & Magic fans will be glad to hear that the development of the next in the franchise has been announced. Black Hole Entertainment's Might & Magic Heroes VI will come to Windows PC in 2011.
The Might & Magic Heroes VI adventure starts 400 years before the events in Heroes of Might & Magic V: A legendary Archangel general killed during the war of the Elder races returns to life with a vengeance. Under the cover of preparations for an upcoming Demon invasion, he unites the peoples of Ashan to eradicate his ancient enemies. However, he underestimates the power of the all too human dynasty of the Griffin Dukes.
This is a turn-based strategy RPG with extra-large maps. They say that the gameplay was "remasterized" by the developer with the help of the franchise's fans. A new reputation system will let you choose your path and customize your experience.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Here's to hoping it doesn't have UbiSuck's DRM!
Good point. If this doesn't have the 'always online' DRM I'll buy two copies. If it's DRM crippled, I'll most likely resort to less than honorable methods. It's a great game to play while on the road, where internet is a luxury.
Nice to see UbiSuck giving us a Might & Magic game, though, after the console/handheld thing I've not played and the port of that Eastern game they renamed HoMMO (lawl).
I've been a HOMM fan since 1996.
"The game will be developed by Budapest-based developer Black Hole Entertainment, maker of Warhammer: Mark of Chaos and Warhammer: Battle March."
Yes, Eastern developers. Woooooo! :D
I donk like the grafism.
*Hope tha necro will be strong*
HoMM is easily my most beloved PC game series ever.
Since HoMM 2 I´ve sunken countless hours into it...
Although I highly doubt Heroes 3 will ever get surpassed, I am certainly looking forward to the sixth entry. While the fourth one was clearly worse IMO the 5th part was definitely fantastic again.
Now it all comess down to the question of ***ing DRM *crosses fingers*
I just re-bought the HoMM 3 complete from GOG, and despite been a 10+ years old game, I still enjoy it.
HOMM5 took too long with all the damn battle animations and the art style didnt sit with me right.
