I poop'd a little. This is great news for PS3 owners, though they will miss the continuity from having the first game.
That's rad, actually. My buddy borrowed my 360 just to play the first two Mass Effects. Too bad he won't be able to transfer his old characters if he buys the PS3 versions. Also, it's a bummer that you'd be missing out on all the character development for your Shepard from ME1. Then again, I guess have a ME1 endgame save didn't really add all that much to ME2.

That's actually nice. I don't have a PS3 myself, nor wish to have one. But exclusives generate more fury from Fanboys...when they're not exclusives anymore. heheheh Is there gonna be a fanboy friday this week?
Now on being serious. I really hate exclusives. My perfect world would be with 4 different consoles with the same games flavored to their respective plataforms. BlazBlue comes to my mind now: the same game, same characters, no exclusive content. Only different gamepads and network.

It still sort of sucks to be them because they won't have the original, thus they'll be considered evil Shepard in the game.

Cool, more people will get to enjoy this great game. BUT.. I can't help but wonder if any fanboys will crap themselves and get crazy angry over the multiplatform thing. I mean, when FF13 and the talks of other Sony games cross to xbox a lot of fanboys cried like babies- WHich is Stupid to be angry over-I like to think that a good game deserves to be played by the masses!

Good for them. Fantastic games shouldn't be limited to one console, and it's nice that my PS3 owning buddies can get to enjoy the best game of this generation. Shame ME1 isn't going there.

This is pretty frickin' awesome. I'd say this is like 1 of 3 games i'm jealous of the 360 for, the other two being Dead rising (sequel coming to PS3 YAY) and Left 4 Dead (Fingers crossed about Valve and Sony being bumchums now).

Was bound to happen, but its a bit gimped due to the second game playing off of the first one quite a bit.
Seems weird that only ME2 is coming to the PS3 (sorta like only Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 only coming to the Xbox). Still, it's better than nothing if you don't own a PC or Xbox 360.
Oh sweet God thank you! I've been playing this on my friend's 360. He just took it back last night so no more ME2 for me I thought. Now this news comes out. It's such an improvement over the first game which was the worst 3rd person shooter I've played in recent memory. Kane & Lynch controlled better. Not to be ungrateful but it would've been nice to get a less broken version of part 1 ported over. This is day purchase for me!

This actually sucks a bit for PS3 owners - sucks in that they don't appear to be getting the first one as well and thusly miss out on the continuity. A lot of content will essentially be locked out for them.
The game feels a lot different if you played paragon in the first and then transferred over to the second. Hopefully bioware will incorporate something to alleviate this problem?

This is pretty awesome news. I already played both this and the original at a friends house, but I'm still happy for this. Bummer about the lack of original though. Oh well, you give a little, you lose a little, eh?

I'm surprised that there's no fanboy bitching and everyone can just admit this is awesome news. Whenever a Sony exclusive goes multi-platform its all "FUCKING TRAITOROUS SWINE, YOU BETRAYED SONY".
If Left 4 Dead 2 hit the PS3 I'd buy that in a heartbeat. Sure I already have it but those games have to be my favourite multiplayer experiences of this gen hands down. Well that and I'd already know where everything is so I could kick some ass against some PS3 L4D noob azz. Haha
Yay! I’ve considered getting an Xbox just for this (and Left 4 Dead) but I could never justify getting a new console just for two games, now I can see what all the fuss is about and save myself some money. Can’t wait now, I’ll have to start catching up on the story.

I just went and replaced my old 360 that was failing, and bought a new 360 S to play through ME 1 + 2. Now I find out I could of saved roughly 290 dollars waiting.

Also, how the crap did Microsoft not throw enough money at EA/Bioware to make this an exclusive? You'd think they'd get their priorities straight if they wanted to keep the good ones.
At any rate, in my humble opinion less exclusives is always a better thing, so yay!

The flaw in that theory is if it were like that, there would be no reason for 4 different consoles to exist, it would be redundant as all hell, and a massive waste of resources making games for 4 different consoles, you think dev costs are bad now.

This is great news, as I'm very anti-exclusivity, well i'm anti MS buying exclusivity, if it's only possible on PS3, then it's only possible on PS3, that kind of exclusivity is one of many reasons that i bought a Ps3.

So will this version include all the DLC to date? I believe Sony requires multiplatform games to have something "extra" if there is a long delay between the XBox version and PS3 version, although I'm sure they would make an exception in this case if necessary.
