"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!" Yes, this pretty much sums up all that was going through my head during this interview. Dragon Age: Origins was another one of the games that I have fallen in love with recently and my excitement is palpable. Yes, I am indeed a fan-girl for Alistair. It's something about the innocent virgin knight in shining armour thing he has going on.
Our interview takes a look at the aspect of "story within a story" and the time line in which Dragon Age II plays out. We also discuss the improvements, alterations and updates to the gameplay. We also talk about the importing of previous saved data and the effects if can have on the new character and world.
Bring it on, Bioware. My social life has been in need of a good kicking.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
As far as Dragon Age II goes...we'll see. After reading the Game Informer feature, I'm nervous that they're taking the game in too action-heavy of a direction. For God of War, I'll play God of War. For Dragon Age, I want Dragon Age! I loved the hell out of the first game and its expansion; moar plz.
That sums up the Destructoid community. Lots of lucky dudes on here.
*continued faith in Bioware*
Basically: if you played the first one on the PC, the second will look the same.
If you played the first one on the 360, they have played with the engine and it will look better.
Great interview Hollie :D
Best addition to Destructoid evarrrr.
Keep up the good work Britoid

You're doing it wrong. If you're "occasionally pressing a button or two" then it's your own fault. Personally, I get really into strategy games and controlling everyone, so I'm doing a LOT more than that.
Also, Alistair, really? The whiny and immature fit he throws towards the end of the game cost him any goodwill he had previously engendered.
A true friend would have stuck by him and listened to him. Alistair and I ride together and we die together.
Fair enough. My loss, I suppose. I just didn't think that someone who was unable to see the sense in compassion was fit to be a king. When I had to choose between my principles or my party member, I chose my principles. That being said, I read later that if I had been less kind to him on his personal quest, it would have toughened him up and he would have acted slightly more rationally towards the end. Doesn't really make sense to me, but there you go.
Anyway, I don't like how Bioware are dumbing down the morality in DAII, going back to their old ways. I'll wait for a review before I buy methinks.
I don't care if you liked the game or not, that's irrelevant. However, if you are only occasionally pressing a button or two, then that is completely on you. You can play the game like that if you want, it's your choice, but don't complain about doing so if that's the decision you make. You can micro-manage so finely that you have more than enough buttons to press, that's the nature of this type of strategy game, so acting as if there is nothing to do is ridiculous.
