From squealing like a fangirl with Doug Lombardi, I suddenly found acting as lady-like a possible and bowing after ever sentence as I was faced with the Japanese development team behind the new MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV

I talked with a Japanese translator as I attempted to find out some of the key points to the newest Final Fantasy game. The Japanese team was happy to tell us all about the new title, why they have been unable to announce the game for the Xbox 360 and of course, what direction they plan to take the all-important battle system.

From squealing like a fangirl with Doug Lombardi, I suddenly found acting as lady-like a possible and bowing after ever sentence as I was faced with the Japanese development team behind the new MMORPG, but first I had to sit through a three hour tutorial. Next I had to find at least 2 other people to join me because there is no way to get to them on my own, and after doing 60 plotless and pointless quests I finally had enough EXP to get to the door. Then Square Enix cancelled my Life even though I paid to get into the building.

Hollie Bennett, living my dream.
Nice to see Wardrox chillin' on the right there.

Wasn't a massive fan of FFXI, but I could see that the foundations were good and I'm looking forward to XIV. So long as the system requirements don't utterly rape my ageing laptop, that is.

OMFG: talk about the setting for the game - high fantasy. Talk about why it isnt aannounced for 360 (yet) - Microsofts system is broken and they are in talks and finally we discuss the battle system - think ff11 but faster and better. Hope that helps <3

I cannot begin to state how often I am one day cutting trees in the forest, then at the same time the next day I am fighting huge monsters in a huge party, and how closely related to my daily life this is.

@Nevi My thoughts exactly. With any luck I'll also have the ability to go on epic quests like those that occurr in and around my home town and neighbouring areas.

That said, if the game revolved around working six days a week and trying to sort out finances for university... I'd still buy it. Signed my soul away to Square a long time ago.
Looking forward to it, assuming they're able to make some progress with Microsoft.

I was under the impression Hollie spoke Japanese for some reason. Or was that athiestium, god I don't even know anymore. Looked a bit awkward them just staring at you not saying anything, haha, but you asked all the right questions.
