Uncharted's Nathan Drake seems like an okay guy. Brave. Funny. Charming. Seems to do well with the ladies. If you ask me, the guy deserves a vacation.

Seriously, in the latest trailer for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Nathan: 

  • Bleeds all over himself in the snow with no jacket or sweater on.
  • Climbs a building with his bare hands to have a conversation with an old Native American guy. Uh, pick up the phone, dude.
  • Gets his ass scorched by an exploding jeep.
  • Has a one-on-one confrontation with a guy who looks like he'd as soon pull a knife on him as he would kick him in the junk.
  • Has to save his blonde love interest from falling off a tower.
  • Has to fend off sexual advances from his dark-haired love interest.
  • Gets into a firefight on top of a moving train. Trains are fast. Bullets are dangerous.
  • You know that building he climbed up with his bare hands to have a conversation with the old Native American guy? Well, it blows up.
  • He hangs from a moving jeep, yet seems strangely calm about it.

I'm incredibly excited for this. The first game is one of my favorites!
Although, I didn't like this trailer quite as much as the E3 one...

I think I'm excited about this as I was about waiting for The Phantom Menace to be released. I was so disappointed I never thought I'd feel that way again :D

Good to see him acting more like a normal human being. I worried about Nate when he was still upbeat and happy go lucky after killing what must have been hundreds of guys. Let's hope it's not PTSD.

This was a great trailer.
I have a slightly off-tpoic question - how come back with the PS2 and xBox they used to show game trailers in the cinema before a movie, but now that games finally look almost real and would be AWESOME on a big screen, they don't show them anymore?
It sucks.

In the interest of Nathan Drake and having him quit while he is ahead, I will just not play Uncharted 2, that way it will be like he is forever happy from the ending of Uncharted 1.

The game's levels look so atmospheric and immersive... Now, if Drake could just STFU during gameplay for 5 seconds...

I love the game, but seriously, he's annoying.
