GC 09: Raskulls developer bringing four games to PSP Minis photo

Halfbrick has making quite a stir on the Xbox Live Arcade with Raskulls (which is already getting some preemptive comparisons to The Behemoth's Castle Crashers). Well, the Australia-based developer switched gears a bit at Gamescon, announcing that it would be bringing four games for the recently-announced PSP Minis program.

The games are being developed under Halfbrick's Friday label, which is in charge of smaller, downloadable titles, which are, of course, perfect for handheld digital distribution. As of right now, Halfbrick Friday has four games coming to the PSP Minis service, per the press release:

Halfbrick Blast Off: a physics-based sci-fi arcade game in which players must collect lost astronauts and safely navigate around the gravitational pull of nearby planets.

Halfbrick Echoes: an action puzzle game in which players collect crystals within many surreal, artistic worlds. As each crystal is collected, an enemy called an Echo will spawn. Echoes are translucent versions of the player’s hat icon, and they will walk the exact same path the hat walked between collecting crystals.

Halfbrick Zombies: an arcade action game where players must survive the onslaught of zombie waves by using a full arsenal of different weapons to dispatch the braindead foes.

Halfbrick Rocket Racing: a racing game with a top-down viewpoint and a vertical twist. Players control the racing craft via left and right pressure-sensitive triggers, which operate thrusts on each respective side. Hold both to move forward and alternate power on different sides to turn. Gravity will also affect the speed of racers going up or down different parts of each course.

Don't worry if you don't have a PSP, you're not totally out of the loop: all of these games are (or will be) available on multiple platforms. In any case, it seems that PSP Minis will start off on a good note when the program launches in October.

Why does it have the Xbox title in the iPhone version of the site if it is talking about the PSP. Nice games.
