Fans of all things retro surely realized when they first saw New Super Mario Bros. Wiithat the game definitely pays homage to our side-scrolling roots. At gamescom this year, a new trailer was debuted in addition to a few new screenshots (and a few we had already seen). At a glance, the game looks to be everything our own Chad Concelmo dreams of and more -- totally addictive multiplayer action AND all the bells and whistles we expect from a Mario game. Do want!
We know New Super Mario Bros. Wii is coming late this year, but Nintendo has not announced an official release date yet. I'm always on the lookout for some awesome local co-op, so I am hoping that this game will provide lots of fun after it finally hits shelves. Don't forget to hit the break for the new trailer. Is this on your must have list for the holidays?

The coop while i'm sure will be fun still looks a little pointless, I hope theres areas which will require teaming up too overcome obstacles or get to certain areas.
Nintendo already confirmed that the game has a single player mode and a co-op mode that will feature areas that can't be reached without the help of another player.
I plan on getting this game along with Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Dead Space: Extraction, Silent Hill:SM, and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Final Fantasy: Crystal Bearers, and Fragile.
Come to think of it, Nintendo hasn't released three Mario platformer games (SMG, NSMB Wii SMG 2)on a home console since the NES.
Can't get excited for it. Maybe it's because there's already too much to buy, maybe because it just doesn't have anything to excite me. The multiplayer looks fun though.
I'm not really enthused. I mean, I don't have three other people to play with, and I can almost feel the single player being eh at best. I dunno, I wasn't all that into the first NSMB anyway.
And the thing that still bothers me is 3P and 4P. Why two generic Toads? Why not Wario, Waluigi, Daisy, etc etc? Come on. =\
I decided I wanted it when at E3 this year, I beat the crap out of the Nintendo rep who took me on in it. I handed his ass to him so bad he accused me of cheating.

I'd have bought it if you could have played with peach, bowser, and all the other characters that should have obviously been able to have been playable. Two different color toads? Thanks a-bunch assholes.
So wait...we can tell from a 2 minute trailer what all the playable characters are? And even so, who cares? This looks great. I came twice just watching the trailer. I'm in!
I should really be excited for this, because it totally looks like Super Mario Brothers 5 (Considering SMW SMB4 and ignoring NSMB DS), but I just didn't enjoy the DS one. I actually traded it in for Sonic Rush...
