I know I seemed exhausted and only semi-enthused when I brought you my preview of Ju-On: The Grudge from E3, but I swear, that was more the wear and tear of the show -- I really am thrilled to see a Japanese horror film (and one of my favorites, at that) adapted into a game. The trailer after the break reveals a few new things: what the cover of the game looks like, and that it's coming in time for Halloween. Whee!
The game is a simple "haunted house" adventure where you use the Wiimote as a flashlight and it meant to be played with friends on family. The family part cracks me up, as this experience seems kind of scary for kids (it's rated 16 and up), but I know we'll be playing it here once it comes out and probably getting pretty creeped out too. Would you leave this out at your next Halloween party?
That actually looks pretty cool, first good impression I've had of this game. The element of keeping still and trying not to jump or shake in fear as a measure of score is brilliant.
This is why I want Sony and Microsoft's motion controll schemes to both work out. An extremely creepy game like this or the new Silent Hill reimagining would be so much better/creepier/"scarier" with HD graphics, real time lighting, etc. Oh well, hopefully JU-ON and Silent Hill will still be pretty intense when they are both released.
Imported it and was Enjoyable but the Controls were Frustrating! I got used to it but I hope they Fix it up. Still, its Good for Scare at night with people :]
Sounds like an amazing idea using it as a gathering tool is a strength the Wii always has but hopefully it is executed well. It will either be actually scarey or so bad it's funny either way I will probably rent it for sure.
Yeah...that is not a game for me (unless I want to shit my pants). I was bored through most of the movie (Ju-on from Japan). It had some pretty intense imagery, but I don't get anything out of horror films anymore. Horror games however...let's just say I'd need to buy a 6 pack of Hanes for this.
This is a big disappointment to me because after the release of LittleKingStory, I expected Rising Star would come out with another good title. Honestly, if looked at close enough this could easily be a minigame found on WarioWare or something like that.

I think 2008 had more horror games. At least I can still play SAW when it comes out.
