Dark Void didn’t need the polish, but it was wise move to push it out of the then-crowded holiday release window. Fresh IP doesn’t fare well when pitted against monolithic sequels like
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. When the delay was announced, Capcom didn’t provide a tight release window. On the second day of gamescom, the publisher did.
Dark Void ships January 12th, 2010.
In addition to announcing shipping details, the publisher released more than a few still images of the topsy-turvy shooter. Dark Void is no scrub, that’s for sure.
Capcom said in official release that the game would make a “big splash” in Cologne. We’re not doubting that statement, if only because the game has an
outdoor skydiving booth. We're currently attempting to confirm if you can hijack other people's ropes while diving like Will can with UFOs. We'll let you know when we know.
Very bold to release during the post Christmas drought.
Actually the post-Christmas drought is pretty promising this time around.
It was actually pretty generic, from what I played of it. It was fun to fly around, but generic.
