To be fair, I don't really care when straight people tell me about their relationships or sex lives either. I'm not offended, I just don't care.

So I had a thought relevant to the topic. Why should hetero males be against a gay convention? A ton of girls will show up, you could go and be one of the only straight men. Seems like this could work to a guy's advantage somehow, yes?

@Skribble actually you're the one being condescending & rude. @bigstinker2000 was just pointing out that being a gamer & being gay have absolutely nothing to do with one another. as a gay man, I agree with him. One of the biggest problems with our community is how much time we spend rubbing peoples noses in our sexuality. I'm a man who is a gamer, an artist, a musician, and a whole bunch of other things and, oh yeah, I also happen to be gay. I'm not ashamed of any of those things but neither do I spend any time subjecting that to the public. Do I really need to completely define myself around a single aspect of my personality? Do I need to have a rainbow flag waiving out of my ass everywhere I go? Some people seem to think so.
Isn't true equality a state where we are free to be ourselves without the need for comment or exception? Then why do we spend so much effort commenting & making exception of ourselves?

There seems to be a lot of arguments over if this convention has any merit, some of it pretty venomous and there is really no need for it. At the end of the day people are interested enough to fund and go to it and as long as they have fun there was a point to it.

The convention isnt going to change the world, it's not going to automatically give the LGBT equality but it might be a place where people who have similar interests and world views/issues meet new friends.

I mean jesus christ guys, I don't have any stake in a LGBT focused convention any more than I do in a Brony convention but I don't go questioning the point of those or arguing against their existance. There are even more fringe conventions than that around so waving the segregated flag around is misguided at best.

People here just need to chill out, there is literally no point in getting worked up over it - I just wish those who go to it all the best and hope they enjoy the experience.

It is a good thing, they are allowed to do this. They have every right to hold a convention friendly to them, just like the KKK has every right to do the same.

I would like there to be an ALL MALE. Of all races - video-game convention. Not even booth babes would be allowed. That way, males and men won't be demonised and disenfranchised, and constantly having to accommodate, and walk on eggshells to escape agitation by feminist inclinations and whims. Against the tyranny of female invasion on males space, pride, mental and psychological stability. Where men can allowed to be alone together and bond, without the absence of women being seen as evil! Constantly undermining their solidarity, and fear of litigation!

However, if homosexuals feel under represented in the gaming media. The simply solution is to get more homosexuals into game design. Creating games that appeal to that demographic. The last thing we need is another leftist Marxist victimocracy akin to the Feminist movement, where "someone at the the top" is oppressing the people at the bottom from rising. Or some such, subversive, propaganda and falsehood.

@PossibleCabbage So then why not just call it gamer con? Are all the other conventions aimed at straight people? If not, can we get one? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against gay folks, but something like this supports segregation by separating people by title. Sure straight folks can go, but it's still aimed primarily for gays.
