GameTap partners with Microsoft Games photo

PC gaming service GameTap has just announced a partnership with the folks at Microsoft Games to bring several of their classic PC titles to subscribers of the service.

U.S. and European subscribers will now have access to several of Microsoft's oldies-but-goodies from PC's yesteryear:

  • Age of Mythology
  • Age of Empires 2
  • Rise of Nations
  • Freelancer
  • Fable: The Lost Chapters
  • Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries
  • Zoo Tycoon series

“We’re thrilled to add to the library of great PC games on the new GameTap through this partnership with Microsoft Games,” said Pierre Forest, VP of Content. “These games have proven to be some of the most played games in our catalogues in Europe, and we expect they will have the same success in the US.”

Any GameTappers out there? Will you get down on these new Microsoft additions?

Wasn't Fable already in the library?

Freelancer? Hell yeah! I hope multiplayer still works, that game was a blast.

I have GameTap, but I don't use it that much, recently they changed EVERYTHING!

And not to my liking... Before you could play old console games and save state... Now you only play in a browser and can't save state...

But it's still great for PC games though...

I dont think I could pay money for a service like gametap. There are too many new great games coming out for me to pay to play old stuff.

I still have Gametap and I agree, the new browser based interface is horrible. I'm still beyond excited that I'll finally get to try Mech Warrior 4. Hell yeah.
