For those who picked up a copy of God of War: Chains of Olympus today, you might have seen the ad on the back of instruction manual. Clearly an ad for the PlayStation 3 version of God of War, it simply reads "Coming Soon" with no real information.

Our sources are indicating that GameStop/EB Games will begin taking pre-orders for God of War III starting tomorrow. So if you're in the mood for throwing five dollars down to reserve a copy of a game which you've never seen or know anything about, tomorrow is the day for you. Seeing as how you should already be done with Chains of Olympus, you might want to consider trading it in towards your pre-order. Oh, I kid!

If you recall, information about Chains of Olympus started coming to light within days of God of War II's release. It's not a stretch to think that we may start seeing more on the God of War III within the week. Please?

Clearly, they must get the guy from that video to do the mo-cap for GOW3.

I mean, clearly.

The guy could have at least had like a dummy out or some guy dressed up like a monster and he could have slashed it up a bit. If thats what impresses people at cosplay conventions then I got a Ken Masters outfit to iron...

I love how you say "start taking your 5 bucks tomorrow" rather than just saying they're offering the pre-orders tomorrow.

I remember when I saw this X-play review on GoW at about 8Pm, me and my friend were watching it, and I was like "Holy shit, we need to go get this now." And that we did, played it till like 7am.
Amazing. :D

Some cosplayers need to get a third opinion on whether or not they should be up on stage flexing in front of everyone.

So anyone want to do a spread or over/under on GoW3 release date?

@Crapsh00t It's the American Idol/Karaoke effect; the worse they are, the more lulz they shall generate.

I say bring on the bad cosplayers!

Why would people preorder stuff that they know nothing about, especially considering it's not even confirmed and doesn't have a release date?

I'd chalk it up to pedigree. There are some thing you just know you're gonna shell out for eventually anyway, no matter what; for me, it's console Zelda games, Linkin Park albums, and Pixar movies. Certainly some people are hardcore enough about God of War that they'll lay down the $60 regardless, so why not beat the rush?

Besides, God of War is a known entity at this point: Sony's premier first-party game, so it'll get plenty of development resources, and a hack 'n slash game, which is pretty predictable. If God of War III isn't a very fun and very samey sequel to God of War II, I'll be shocked.
