Remember when MySpace was the sh*t? Have you deleted your account yet? Facebook rolled up and eventually ran over them. Facebook has gone way beyond social networking in the past few years. Now there's games, advertising, and even storefronts in FB. The newest store to come to the service is your friendly neighborhood games retailer, GameStop.
GameStop will be the first games retailer to launch a store on Facebook. Gamers using this new store will be able to pre-order titles and earn/redeem points from the company's loyalty program. The company says that we can expect "more rich media, like product videos, reviews and ratings, store finders, product carousels, likes and shares, than any store ever launched in Facebook."
Very interesting. Is a Facebook GameStop store something you'd 'Like?'

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

I wanna check out how this exactly will work anyway, its an interesting move by them nevertheless.
Because people are fucking lazy- there I said it
Xbox live is the only social network thingie I use.
I personally don't purchase from them anymore because the usually sell me gutted copies of "new" games, I'm pretty anal about that stuff and I try to keep my games in mint condition, so it bothers me to buy a new game that is missing a manual and is dirty and worn.
Once they sold me a "new" game that didn't have the cover art or booklet another time they sold me a "new" DS game that already had save data on it.
Also I've had some bad experiences there I had to spend an hour at a Gamestop once because a new employee didn't know how to return games so he had to call his boss numerous times and he wasn't picking up so it took forever.
The last time I went to a Gamestop I had a really bad experience although it wasn't really their fault. Their was this guy outside the store that was bothering the crap out of me to Trade-in some used games for him (he couldn't do it because his drive license was suspended and you need an ID to trade in games). I decided to just do it to get him to leave me alone. When I walked into the store the cashier was mad because apparently that guy had been swearing and spitting in his store, so I was put in the middle of an argument I had nothing to do with, and I ended up being late to college that day. It wasn't Gamestop's fault for that one, but it's kinda like food poisoning once you've had a bad experience you don't want to go back there again.
Amazon has been really good to me no Taxes and free 2-day shipping, so I buy most of my games from them
Also, fuck Facebook and Gamestop.
I don't understand the facebook hype. I don't even know it's real or if it's successful. Everyone want to be 'on' it but for me it's just the dot com bubble all over again. People don't like it when you make them a nice and fancy park where they can meet and talk and then destroy everything, make big stores everywhere and put 3 million ads in their face. Facebook will die, sooner than you think. The internet is a big, fast moving place and when it's just a place of ads people will abandon the ship faster than the rats.
