GameStop says God of War: Collection delayed, Sony denies photo

According to GameStop, God of War: Collection isn't releasing until March 2010, missing its late 2009 launch date by quite a few months. GameStop tends to be more right than wrong when it comes to release dates, so this supposed delay has caused quite a few gums to flap.

Sony, for its part, has denied any delay of the God of War and God of War II PS3 compilation, so the official word from on high is that it's still coming out as planned, sometime before the Holiday season kicks off. I really hope so, because I want to get my God of War freak on in HD and I'd hate to wait until March 2010.

Still, makes you wonder how GameStop arrived to this conclusion, unless they somehow got it confused with God of War III. Either way, we'll be keeping a suspicious eye on God of War: Collection and see if those dates do any moving.

David Jaffe probably discovered that one part in God of War 2 where Kratos calls the gods a bunch of pretentious indy fags, and he made them delay it so they could go back and take it out.

Gamestop defiantly guesses on these things. When a game release date hasn't been announced they usually schedule it for the last day of the year, or just guess flat out. I wouldn't trust anything they've got to say.

I'm with Jim on this one. I'm excited for these games. I have a PS2 compatible PS3. I mainly bought it because I missed a lot of great PS2 games last gen. I was mainly an Xbox/Gamecube guy. I'm still going back and playing some great games I missed. I resent the idea of Sony trying to resell a game I can get cheaper and in a physical format. But if there's a value add, like uprezing the graphics, I'd be happy to buy that. I'm hoping this is successful and we see an Ico/Colossus redo pack as well.

Why would they delay such a simple port? Seriously.

Anyways the date is back to original November date.

If $ony would stop re-releasing their old games for the PS3 and instead re-release the PS3 with backwards compatability I'd be a much happier customer.

It loses it's effectiveness when it's a horribly butchered phrase, partner.

It'd be one thing if it just had a date for march, but it had it at November. Also, GoW3 is already in their system. The last time they moved release dates around like this it was for Splinter Cell. Hopefully it comes out on time...

They delayed GOW collection from 10/10 to 10/17. A very strange one week delay. I wonder if it has more to do with the GOW 3 demo that is supposed to be downloadable with a code on the day the collection is released.
