Is this thing on? Ahem! Ok, let's try to ignore the fact that this is my very first home page post on* Destructoid.
That said, we have more serious matters to attend to, beginning with a confession. I have the bad habit of giving out my number to strange women in parks, clubs, public bathrooms and Gamestops. One of them called today -- a robotic specimen that popped one too many Prozaks -- to tell me that Killzone 2 was released.
Have you guys heard these before? I played it on speaker for the office and everyone seemed to recoil in instant disgust. We got the idea to sync the audio to equivalent visuals and, well ... I hope the video above speaks to every gamer's heart, I too know what it feels to get played. How Gamestop thinks this is a good idea is beyond us.

*I've actually been a Dtoider since 2007 and joined the staff not too long ago. I've been working in video games for several years now -- mostly doing music videos, promotional videos and marketing for developers and publishers, as well as design and web work. You've probably spotted some of my recent work with Sterling on our new collection of video reviews, as well as event video features. I also work with indepedent artists and I've e had the majority of my music videos broadcast on all major music networks.
I'm not planning on writing or posting much, my role is to supply our editorial staff with a new tool to entertain you, the reader. I saw a tweet that CheapyD made saying that a friend of his works at a Gamestop where they sold a whopping 4 copies of Killzone 2 at a midnight launch.
Anybody else remember when the calls always said "Hi, this is Aeris from GameStop..."? That always seemed so pandering and off-putting to me, at least now they're using "real" names...
While I'm usually down for this type of stuff (thought the comparison videos and Noby Noby boy review video were fantastic), this video flew past cool and funny and landed somewhere around stupid and necessary.
It was confusing the first time I heard it since it was for Little Big Planet. Remember the recall? I ended up being one of the people that got a copy that following weekend after the first release date.
So I get a call early in the week from an employee explaining the recall. A few days later, on a Friday, I get a message from robolady telling me that my copy is in. The confusion sets in, because I'm thinking it's just a glitch in the matrix.
Whatever happened to the courtesy calls of old, where it actually seemed like your local GameStop employees were pleased that you chose to give them your money early? It's so impersonal now...
@Necros - wow, nothing gets by you, does it? I think that's the whole idea of the video; life imitates art, art imitates life. In other words, horrible voice recording reminder from Gamestop = equally horrible video of puking awesomeness.
last week, all the videos were working while using the ps3 browser. this week, not a goddam one! what was changed that would affect it? i know i'm one of the minority who loves to watch videos on a hdtv instead of a tiny laptop screen but i would love to be able to watch them on either. i only use my laptop when i want to write a blog here.
