GameStop offering limited edition version of The Conduit photo

Despite the wretched box art, The Conduit appears to be an awesome Wii-exclusive shooter. If you’ve already decided to purchase the title, then you may want to grab it at GameStop. (Stop moaning.) Right now, the company’s Web site is promoting an exclusive Limited Edition version of the game that will net you a few bonus goodies with purchase.

And here are the items:

  • Unique ASE (All-Seeing Eye) with custom detail and projected light
  • “Secret Agent” multiplayer character
  • 24-page artbook featuring concept art from the game world
Wait, will the ASE flashlight actually work? Because there’s a hollow spot in my wall that I’ve wanted to check out for some time now. My girlfriend thinks its nothing, but I’m about nine hundred percent sure the holy grail is in there behind some sort of invisible door.

Yes. I think that's the first level in the game [Black].

I can't imagine anybody who would want the artbook...Except for a good laugh maybe. Honestly...Why? Game looks great, but Art book? Seems like an necessary expense. Should push early sales though- and it better sell...

Ah, but you're basically getting it for free, so why wouldn't you want it? The game still only cost $50, so its not like they're charging you more for these extra's. If you really don't want it after looking at it the once, then just throw it in the garbage, and be done with it. Nothing gained, and nothing lost.

My god now people complain about getting free shit, what's next? You'll want these game company's to pay you to play their damn games? I honestly don't know how you could see this as a negative thing, but I guess I'm just not as cynical as most of the people are on this site!

Is it me or does MP3 look better? The games seems to lack every possible sort of AA...

black screenshot pic taken down and replaced.

That's some fine damage control there Lou.

Related to the storiez:

A ball flashlight and multiplayer skin that i likely wont use just wont do it for me. The artbook will just be uploaded by someone if I REALLY want to see it but I do not.

With every game publisher jumping on the limited edition bandwagons so far none of them really appealed to me much. I just want the damned game.

I hate these store-specific deals. I will probably still just order the game from Amazon.

@Nictel

Well, MP3C lacked anti-aliasing, as well. MP3C looks decent, but - from what I've seen in motion - I'd say that The Conduit looks better. The sheer complexity of the on-screen effects (especially the water) blows anything in MP3C (please, forgive the pun) outta the water.

I'm floored. Not only did Brad say something complimentary about the Wii (getting soft, Brad?) but that screen shot actually looks good!!

I would definitely want to see the art book. It's a neat way to see how the various ideas were initially created and changed throughout the process. And if it's effectively free, there's no reason to NOT get it. I do agree, though, that store-specific sales are major pains in the ass.

Any Wii game that actually has a collector's edition gets my attention. That never happens. With anything.

lol, in my opinion, the worst thing about this great game is its art. No thanks on the artbook.
