GameStop bundling rubber duckies with Wiis ... WHAT?! photo

Dtoider Doskias sent something to the Destructoid tip line that I think is probably my favorite news story for the month on July now. And it's only the second day of the month!

Seeing as how the demand for the Wii has pretty much leveled out, GameStop is desperate to sell some Wiis. How desperate? They're offering f**cking rubber duckies! Don't like rubber duckies? Well how about some pirate tattoos?! OR HOW ABOUT A WATER GUN?!

Yeah, that just happened.

Well, Marvelous *might* be interested in porting No More Heroes and Muramasa: The Demon Blade over to the PS3 (and to a lesser extent, the 360..pfft), based on this news from Siliconera. So maybe you could just hold on to that $250 and go buy some duckies from the local Target?

maybe i am worong but if i look at the sales numbers at vgchartz , wii is still selling very well for the summer months (double then the other consoles)

if they really wanted get rid of there wii's they prob offerd something better then 3 rubber duckies :P

I'm trying to...no. I can't figure it out. I was thinking maybe it's Gamestop's sneaky way of getting some free publicity...but do they really need it?

Maybe the execs' kids were telling them how much they like rubber ducks, water guns, and temporary tattoos, and the execs thought "hey, Wii sales have slowed down, kids love Wiis and this shit...let's bundle them together!"

Or maybe someone hacked the site?

I guess with the stellar lineup of software available for the Wii, they went with the obvious "Fully Interactive RubberDucky FunTime EXTREME Expansion Pack"
