I'm just winding down from one of the busiest years I've ever had, so it's hard to think about next year's major gaming events already. Europe's biggest event, gamescom, is already in the planning stages. Registration is open now! Can't a guy take a break for a month or so?
Next year's event will have "considerably more exhibition space," according to organizers. Right now they're working with exhibitors to reserve their space on the event's 140,000 square metres of available space, which comes out to 16 percent more than last year's already huge floor offering.
Last year they hosted 276,000 visitors and 557 exhibitors. I can only imagine how much bigger it will be in 2012.
gamescom 2012 kicks off on August 15. I'll bring good shoes.

gamescom is spelled sans caps.
It was indeed over capacity, people had to wait (without queues) to get in. I was clever enough to go to the less crowded North entrances and stalk Sven Wohl into the building.
I guess you learn something new everyday.
Bizarre they'd increase the headcount given the huge mess this year, but meh. Dtoid EU will still rock it, I'm sure.

@Daniel Mea culpa, you're right-o. Once in a while I just want to see a German sentence on this page. Always have the feeling EU is more handled as UK.
