At EA's gamescom press conference today in Cologne, Germany, it was revealed that just about all of the cars will be unlocked from the start of upcoming racer Need for Speed: Most Wanted. So, no more unlocking.
Wait, what? I'm so used to unlocking cars that I likely go nuts with all the choices.
The Autolog will also be returning, and will update with every race you do, with in-game billboards updating during races with realtime information. The same info will go up into the cloud, allowing all players to get at each other's times, regardless of platforms. The magic of the cloud also allows players to earn multiplayer points from all related devices, including computers, mobile and Vita.
Finally, multiplayer was teased in a brand new trailer from gamescom, shown above. It's not the greatest trailer ever, but you know multiplayer is going to be great anyway.
Multiplayer competitions can be set up with post-able billboards. If you want to go up against someone else's record, just smash through their billboard. So weird.
