Games of the Week for 9/19/2010: Todd Margaret Edition

It amazes me that there are programming directors out there who would greenlight a series starring David Cross. That takes balls that clang. And, yet, here we are.

The Destructoid editors played videogames this week. I bet you did also. We've written out the games we played in a list with our tappy-tappy boards and published it below. You should do the same.

Bennett, C.: Firing up a bit of Space Invaders Infinity Gene for review, working through PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe in tiny bits, revisiting Persona 3 Portable so I can date new hotties, and nosing around in the DeathSpank demo.

Chester: Finishing up Enslaved, I plan on going back and trying out Heavenly Sword before I chat with some folks from Ninja Theory later this week. Also will be checking out Def Jam Vendetta, starting the upcoming Borderlands downloadable content "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution," and... I think that's about it for me this week!

Ross: Finished Professor Layton and the Unwound Future last night, so I can have the review out by Monday. Also been playing a boatload of Civilization V, as well as Valkyria Chronicles II.

Sterling: I'm preparing for Enslaved to arrive any day, and wondering if I might not go back and replay Heavenly Sword too. I loved the story but the combat felt a bit limp and the Sixaxis stuff was horrible, from what I remember.

Anyway, I am almost done with the Fallout 3 DLC and have been having a rare old time with the game. The Pitt, despite its tendency to glitch like crazy, has an amazing storyline and some really conflicting characters. I love how it takes the generally established faction dynamic of previous games and turns it on its heads. I'll be sad to be done with Fallout 3, but I may go through it again on a Bad Karma run, and then it'll be New Vegas time, so that'd be excellent!

Also played Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions for a bit. I appreciate what they were going for and how they tried to copy Arkham Asylum with the Noir levels, but meh. It's a big dull to me, really. A noble effort, but a bit of a boring experience, gameplay wise.

Carey: Can't talk. Civilization V. I hate barbarians.

Bennett, H.: I am with the lovely Jim Sterling, as I am also eagerly awaiting the arrival of Enslaved. In the meantime I am getting some well deserved time with DLC for both Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age.

Had fun with the Dragon Age DLC, slightly short but not bad, I'm in love with the game so fresh content is always pleasant. As for Mass Effect, Overlord has been good so far but sadly it contains the one thing I hated in Mass Effect games: flying or driving missions! Still have yet to play Shadow Broker.

I AM A BIOTIC GOD!

Concelmo: I am replaying Final Fantasy IX on PSN. MY GOD I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!

Queen Brahne is a bitch.

Zimmerman: Played through the "Minerva's Den" DLC for BioShock 2 and was thoroughly impressed with it. Particularly the end, in which you are encouraged to take your time in reaching the bathysphere. It's the perfect bookend to the first moments I spent in Rapture at the beginning of BioShock. Being given that simple instruction to say goodbye to the city (would you kindly) made me slow down, really look at it and be struck by the same sense of awe I had three years ago when I first descended. A brilliantly executed conclusion.

I picked up Monday Night Combat the other day and I'm abysmal at it. I love it, but I don't think I'll last much more than another week before giving up out of frustration with myself. And I'm giving The Saboteur another chance but my patience is already wearing thin.

Aziz: Keeping the neighbors up with Halo: Reach

Devore: Pretty much nothing but Halo: Reach at this point.

Razak: Darksiders. It's fun.

Perlee: Reach, Scott Pilgrim, and nothing else because I am grumpy.
