Ladies and gentlemen, we proudly present 787 Cliparts by Oliver Laric. This may well be the most useless video I've seen all weekend, and I've seen three!
It's time for yet another self-indulgent foray into Games of the Week, where we all pretend that anybody actually cares what it is we've been doing with our filthy hides for the past seven days. Let the feeling of self importance commence!
Conrad: I re-opened the door on Fallout 3 and am steadily progressing on a second playthrough. I picked up Bomberman Act Zero because it was $6 and I wanted to prove to myself that it wasn't worth that much. I was not disappointed.
I also grabbed Persona 4 and have just started out. I think this is going to be the game that determines whether or not I buy another J-RPG ever. If I can't finish this one, after all of the positive things I've heard, I think I'm just going to give up on the genre altogether.
Jim: This week was mostly spent fulfilling some self-imposed review duties, as I played through Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon and am still battling my way through Rise of the Argonauts. The former already has a review published and the latter I am embargo-bound to remain silent on. Check back to Dtoid on December 16 when the review goes up! Trust me, if you are at all interested in the title, you'll want to read this.
Otherwise, my Gears of War 2 disc returned from England and I see that the online mode has devolved into a wasteland of quitting host griefers and lobby delays that the patch seems to have made worse. The experience is not as I once knew it to be. I am going to have to really get onto Xbox Live at times when Dtoid community members are playing. Also, got to indulge in some Tales of Vesperia. I declare it ... alright.
Colette: It's been all Persona 4 since the day it came out. While there is a lot more to do (almost overwhelmingly so), the main issue I had with Persona 3 does not seem to be changed, that being that I find that it takes multiple trips to complete a dungeon kind of annoying. Of course, the game has so much else going for it that I'm not going to let it get in the way ... but I do wish I could program those dungeon grinds to autoplay themselves sometimes.
Dale: Star Ocean was re-released on the PSP. This has aged well.
Justin: Since Tron and Topher have been talking about Jumping Flash! quite a bit in the e-mailer this week, and I had some spare cash in my PSN wallet, I figured I'd give it a download. I'd never heard of this game before, and I certainly wasen't expecting it to turn out to be a quirky first-person shooter platformer where you control a robot frog that can hop really high, but it is, and it's fun, so wheeeeeeeeee!
And due to craving some Breath of Fire, I started replaying the fourth entry in the series. I'd forgotten how nice it looked for a PSX game. I'd also forgotten how annoying the camera is to deal with.
Chad: 45 hours in, and still LOVING Fallout 3.
I have a question, though? Without ruining anything, I am in the child town of Little Lamplight and headed towards Vault 82 through Murder Pass. Am I getting near the end of the story part of the game? I keep getting distracted with random exploration that I have no idea how far into the game I am.
Any vague info would be much appreciated.
Samit: Aside from the usual doses of Rock Band 2 and NHL 09 -- my personal games of the year -- I tooled around in PlayStation Home for an hour or two and decided that I probably won't ever go back to it. I also tried out the co-op in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, and while I don't want to give away the upcoming review, I'll just say that the co-op is ... fun.
DMV: Now that I'm home and with friends, it's more about co-op and versus games. So far, that means Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Dynasty Warriors Gundam.
Topher: JUMPING FLASH.
Jonathan: EXACT...
ULTRA...
This week I was lucky enough to find Castle of Shikigami 3 and Space Invaders Extreme at a local Gamestop. Both cost $20, both are shmups, and both have been discontinued. So yeah, I was pretty psyched about that.
Also got into Persona 4. So far, it's a hell of a lot more involving than Persona 3, but I'm still not sure if I'll ever finish it. Sometimes I actually wish I'd get my legs broken or something so I'd be forced to stay in one place for long enough to sit through these massive JRPGs the country keeps pumping out.
Also played a few hours of Animal Crossing: City Folk, sent some annoying Wii Speak voice messages to a few Dtoid community members, and got Guitar Hero: World Tour for my birthday (which is today).
So don't just sit there! CELEBRATE ME!
Nick: I can't believe you let Guitar Hero: World Tour into your home ...
There are a few more missions until you are finished the game, so if you want it to end abruptly, just keep on playing the story line.
I just got a fuck tonne of old NES games for an early Christmas present, so I had to clean my NES to actuall play any of them. 45 hours into Kingdom Hearts II. And 12 or 13 hours into Chrono Trigger DS.
Next up is Final Fantasy XII, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, Children of Mana DS.
I think the worst part for me is the fact that I end up finding tons of stuff, so I have to lumber my way to a place I can unload, fast travel, sell stuff, then retrieve the other stuff, which is time I should be spending killing raiders.
Played EArthworm Jim for a few minutes too. Love taht Earthworm Jim.
Picked up Lost Odyssey and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 today. Can't wait to try them out.
Also, waiting on my PS3 to get back, after Fed Ex screwed up my delivery and sent it back to the warehouse.
Also Diverse GTFO, and learn how to spell.
I also got the Mega Man Zero: Complete Works book for by B-day. It's pretty awesome (if you like Mega Mans).
I also got Galactic Civilizations II and Space Rangers 2, so I'm trying to wrap my head around them. They are the most intimidating, humongous games I have ever played.

hehe..
rented Guitar Hero World Tour...its fun to play guitar when someone else sings. Maybe I'll pick this or Rock Band up when it goes in a discount bin.
Also, I finally finished Half-Life 2. In the beginning I never really understood what people saw in that game. Because it seemed to consist mostly of boring "go from point A to B" missions. And since it lasted so long I just gave up on that game initially. But then I picked it up again and completed the last remaining chapters, and I must say, that the last chapters redeemed alot of the game's shortcomings.
I later played through both Episode One and Two. And I think they where brilliant! They seemed to drop the tedious extended traveling missions and add some more action in between. It was also nice that you where around other humans alot more often, so there would be alot more dialouge and story involved. I'm now addicted to the Half-Life universe!
cough cough got a chip for my saturn.
finally can give Panzer Dragoon Saga a shot.. internal battery is dead... and now the chip is making every disc just an audio cd... so no more radiant silvergun, Sonic R, or Panzer Dragoon until something happens.
also, import of tatsunoko vs capcom is bomb shit.
Still playing KoF2002. Just started replaying Burnout 3: Takedown. Criterion really, really needs to put crash junctions back into Burnout. I had no idea how much I missed them!
Oh, and I finished my dtoid secret santa shopping! But I'm not going to spoil that.
On the Wii I play Animal crossing for a few minutes every night - even though it is the same game ive played 2 other times, it makes the GF happy too.
Games:
Left 4 Dead
Forza 2
BioShock
And waiting till Christmas for my Gun Metal Grey PS3!!!!
Alls good. :OD
