I was recently introduced to a British musical outfit known as Kunt and the Gang. I have decided that it is my favorite band in the whole wide world and that everybody should pay homage to Kunt's musical genius. As evidence of his talent, I submit his cover version of "I Kissed A Girl," titled "I Sucked Off A Bloke." It is the work of a God in human form.
Speaking of sucking people off, we played videogames this week. As always, hit the jump to find out which ones.
PerLee: Stuck in some border land, left for dead too, and trying to take care of my ass...creed 2.
Sterling: Biiiiig list this week:
Serious Sam HD, Dawn of War 2, Fallout 3, Quake, Doom 2, Killing Floor, The Witcher, Audiosurf, Team Fortress 2, Tropico 3, God of War: Collection.
Trouble is, outside of Serious Sam and The Witcher, I've only managed to play about ten minutes of each!
Concelmo: My favorite gaming time of year is the four-day Thanksgiving weekend. Usually it consists of me playing some hot new IP that just released during the holiday season, but strangely enough, I played mostly older re-releases this time. The God of War Collection and the Metroid Prime Trilogy took most of my time, and I have to admit, all five games on these compilations are superb. In particular the second God of War and the first Metroid Prime are truly perfect specimens of game design. SO GOOD!
I also played some LEGO Indiana Jones 2 and a little Sam & Max Beyond Time & Space.
Holmes: This week has been such a blur, I'm not even sure what I played.
I know for sure that I got another PS3. The disc drive on my first one broke a few weeks ago, and everywhere I went, they told me it would cost between $140 and $170 to fix it. I decided on getting a used 20GB model for $200 instead, picked it up on Wed, and went completely nuts replaying PS2 games that I've never played before or haven't touched in forever. Persona 4, Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, We <3 Katamari, Ape Escape 3, and a lot more that I just can't remember.
It made me realize that we aren't going to have another PS2 this generation. Sure, there will be one console that sells more than all the rest, there always is. It's just not going to be another PS2. It's not going to be a place where almost all of the biggest, most popular games and the smallest, most interesting games can both be found. The PS2 really was a perfect storm in that way.
Also bought Flower on sale. Meh.
On the Wii, I still can't beat the Tofu level in Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, which is awesome, because Tofu levels were made to be cruelly difficult. Speaking of which, Bit.Trip VOID is living up to expectations. It's kicking my ass in a wonderful way. When I get exhausted with being thrilled (and killed) by little white dots, I pick up Pokemon Rumble, which allows you to murder approx three Pokemon a second. It's a total Poke'-holocaust, or Poke'-caust, or whatever.
Finally, played more New Super Mario Bros. Wii with friends. It's not getting old.
Razak: I've had a crazy hectic week so all I got to do was dive back into Beneath a Steel Sky which I started a while back. Further in and it's getting really good. I'm retro this week.
Sarkar: I succumbed to a few of the Steam sales this week -- I picked up Osmos for $2, Time Gentlemen, Please! and Ben There, Dan That for $5 (on Anthony's recommendation, so I'm going to demand five bucks from him if I don't like those games), and Plants vs. Zombies for $5. Seriously, kids, if you know what's good for you, you'll forget that Steam has a "Games Under $5" page. If you gaze at it, you'll be turned to stone ... and your wallet will be emptied.
I didn't actually get around to playing any of them, though, because it was a double cash weekend for Uncharted 2! I played a bunch of ranked competitive MP and had lots of fun with Doughnut Drake and Doughnut Lazarevic. It was hilarious to see obese versions of those characters jumping around and climbing walls. Man, I love Naughty Dog. I also played a crapload of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, which is as addictive as ever; I'm now up to level 26. I'm still finding the SCAR-H to be my favorite weapon, but I'm going to give the recently unlocked FAL a shot (no pun intended) to see if it can become this game's G3 (which was my weapon of choice in CoD 4).
Finally, I began playing Machinarium, which is awesome. My brain hasn't had that kind of workout since, well, I played Machinarium at PAX!
Tolentino: Still without a PS3, I spent most of my gaming time this week playing Shin megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. Then I spent most of Saturday trying to tweak the graphics settings on Dragon Age in an attempt to squeak more than 10 frames a second out of it. I failed, but the game is still (technically) playable.
Chester: Assassin's Creed 2, Heavy Rain, Band Hero, God of War Collection, iCarly for the Wii, Rock Band 2. There you go.

Meet the rest of the team
Shit, I actually played a lot this week. Continued with a replaythrough of Final Fantasy X (the Home Desert took FOREVER >.<) and playthrough of Final Fantasy V (so underrated :(,) and started playing LoZ Minish Cap (awesome,) Half Life 2 (awesome,) and Borderlands (awesome, once I figured out how to turn off that horrible mouse smoothing shit.) Also Peggle :D
Still working through Dragon Age here. I'm dawdling around the dwarven area. I hate mine levels and I'm none too keen on dwarves, so I couldn't really care less about their kingin' problems.
Finally got around to setting up my iPlayer with all the GBA roms that I could pack into it. My DSi feels complete now. Now if only the stupid face sticker would quit trying to peel up...
Started to play Knights of the Old Republic but I am not hooked yet.
Gave the Last Remnant demo a go. Hated it.
Finally completed Half-Life 2 after around a year of owning it. Also started and completed Half-Life 2: Episode One. That darn thing was too short, but I have heard Episode Two is the shit.
Played some Left 4 Dead, it's strange how little I have played it because it kicks serious ass.
The Osmos demo is cool and all, but for some reason my PC couldn't handle it for a moment. Strange, maybe my drivers needed to update.
@Scary Womanizing Pig Mask
i remember playing Final Fantasy V Advance in my last months of high school after a friend lent it to me and I thought he had FFVI instead. But it felt very very nice despite the slow beginning. Shame he claimed it back when I was very hooked.
A bit of Beyond Good & Evil, but mostly getting back to Borderlands (and beating it with one character; second playthrough is roooough) and a lot of 1 vs 100.
SSBM, SSBB, and MK: Double Dash with family and friends all Thanksgiving break... it was awesome. Also, Cap'n Falcon got so nerfed from Melee to Brawl, it's sad.
Monodi, you will definitely enjoy episode 2! For some bizarre reason I ended up playing them in reverse order and I still need to complete HL2. Been playing too much L4D2 to complete my recently purchased (cheap on steam) Mass Effect and Borderlands.
Ps2? Zone of the Enders 2 and Robot Alchemic Drive. Just sayin'
Been playing Dragon Age (I'm at the landsmeet and returning to the alienage for the first time. Ouch.), started Uncharted 2 (time to roll out the creature feature again!), 1 vs 100 (Lv8!), the Tropico 3 Demo on 360 (MUST HAVE THIS GAME!) and a little Geometry Wars 2 (ALMOST beat Chad Concelmo's Pacifism score!)
Taking a small break from the current releases for now, so I can try some Mirror's Edge that my friend lent me. It's...not terrible, but I'm not really getting the feel for it. But I only finished the first three chapters, I'll see how it goes from there.
Most of my time is spent with [Prototype] which is surprisingly fun. As ugly as the animations and the lot are for the game, running, gliding, and elbow dropping shit never gets old.
LOTS AND LOTS of Left 4 Dead 2. It's so addictive. Also, I'm scared of Realism. It's crazy as hell.
I also started getting into the mod, "Research and Development", which so far, is VERY GOOD.
Steam is kicking my ass this week too. With that said...
-KoTOR (trying to get the Widescreen mod to work). Shit looks ugly if it ain't 1440x900
-Osmos (very good, but difficult)
-Guild Wars Trilogy (finally, a sale on this)
-I bought World of Goo (finally, also)
Lastly, the "Ben There" and "Time Gentlemen" bundle. I'll dive into that later.
Wait wait wait... these guys are better than ELO? :O
I picked up Osmos and Trine from the Steam sales over the weekend. Still hoping for a Torchlight or Serious Sam HD discount to finish the sale tomorrow. Other than that I've been making more progress in the brilliant Overlord. Also started GTA: Chinatown Wars which is a brilliant nostalgia trip, reminding me of what I liked about GTA before IV came along. :)
Went back to BlazBlue this weekend, it's pretty damn great! Except it pales in comparison to the absolutelygorgeous-looking Continuum Shift. I also played some Vampire Savior and a bit of a friend's copy of Tales of the Abyss, which is actually quite good.
Then I went on to play some Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, which is a ton of fun despite the lacking gore. Unfortunately, I took no advantage of any Black Friday sales.
Jim's list is awesome, mine's pretty similar at least as far as tropico 3 and dawn of war 2 are concerned. Also downloading Empire: Total War and I can't wait to play it :)
I do believe Jim is responsible for 50% of the corruption of my brain from the interweb.
That said, I played Super Mario Galaxy for the first time since I bought it the day it came out, L4D after buying it for less than $6 on Steam(4pack split 4 ways), bought DA:O(PS3vers. I know, I know) for $40 but in mail atm, On Lavos on Chrono Trigger DS, Played RE5 with a friend who just bought it and forgot so much in that story it's like a new game. Also play Okami(Ps2vers, no thank you waggle-stick) again, I never finished it and apparently I'm at the begining still.
Also played ME for an few hours. Bought Star Wars:KotOR and sad at how much it looks to suck ass so far. Also played TF2 for FNF about an hour.
Forgot to mention I played the Machinarium demo and realized why point-click games grew extinct despite my fondness for them. They reduce into randomly pointing and clicking at everything on screen until frustration hits and you stop playing or beat the game.
I've mostly been playing Miner Dig Deep. Yes, really. That thing from the Indie Games in XBL. Looks like a flash game, the gameplay is repetitive & redundant, but addicting as CRAP and strangely satisfying. Have...to...get...this...awesome...uber...lantern...!
Demon Soul and a little more Demons Souls. I've had the game ever since it's Oct 6 release date so I've got the game on lock down. Started a new game with a female character and I'm soul level 63 and it took me just 5 or so hours. Anyway, wicked game!
I went to my parents for thanksgiving and got them sold on Rock Band. They then bought Beatles Rock Band (they knew more songs on it), so now I have a free copy of BRB. I'm extremely surprised at how good the Beatles music is; I liked it before, but I only knew a few songs. After going through the whole game, I can honestly say I love 90% of the songs, with a few being not as good. I'm a bit sad that Yesterday, Hey Jude, Maxwell Silverhammer, and Let it Be are not in the game, but I guess I'll just have to fork over for DLC.
MAG beta, nothing but MAG beta, all week, all weekend, all evening, all night, having trouble getting up for work (UK here no Thanksgiving) with all the playing till 5am shit I can't help but do, the mrs managed to drag me away for a couple of hours to go to my folks for dinner at the weekend, then i was straight back home and back into the MAG beta, after spending most of the time telling my parents how amazing the MAG beta is. (They really couldn't care less)
Cannot get enough, want to be playing right now but at fucking work, will be home in an hour and a half my sweet sweet MAG beta, I've missed you since lunchtime.
FPS games will never be the same again, step aside Modern Borfare, say goodnight homo, see you around killzzzzzzzz(one), services no longer required, there's a new dog in town, that dog has massive battles, varied, changing-on-the-fly objectives and 256 players. You guys are fucking obsolete.
I can't say anything about it yet, but yes, I am playing the beginning of Heavy Rain.
What I can talk about, however (and what you're more interested in), is iCarly for the Wii. It's like WarioWare. You guys like WarioWare, right? Just like that. With iCarly characters.

What do you think of The Witcher, incidentally?
Next week however it's gonna be Assassin's Creed I & II! Woohoo! aren't you excited for me Mr. Sterling?
Finally got around to setting up my iPlayer with all the GBA roms that I could pack into it. My DSi feels complete now. Now if only the stupid face sticker would quit trying to peel up...

I've played nothing but Modern Warfare 2 lately.
Wait wat?
I need to read these things.
Hey Nick when/if/definitely when I kill you I'd prefer you'd keep that copy of Heavy Rain in the man bag I know you carry around.
Pick it up again if you can; it's just as addicting as you remember XP
.....and I did like it.
Been playing Dragon Age (I'm at the landsmeet and returning to the alienage for the first time. I will admit Mirror's Edge was not a completely successful experiment, but it feels so different that it's fresh.
LOTS AND LOTS of Left 4 Dead 2. It's so addictive. Also, I'm scared of Realism. It's crazy as hell.

Great week for gaming I'd say :D
Oh, and also Half Life 2.

ARE YOU REGRETTING LEAVING ENGLAND?
