In other news, it's time for games of the week! What have the Destructoid editors been playing since last we all convened? What have YOU been playing? Let's share together! Hit l'jump for more.
Hamza: I played a bunch of Atari games with the only ones I can talk about being The Chase, Sacred 2 and My Horse and Me. I sat through 40 minutes of My Horse and Me and I still have no idea why I did it.
At least I ended the week by playing the new Prince of Persia!
Topher: Baltimore NARP. I played everything.
DMV: Valkyria Chronicles is the only thing I've gotten to play in between watching Korean films and writing about them. I can't wait until the semester is over, just so I can take a break from writing and play some games.
Nick: Prince of Persia on the PlayStation 3; Prince of Persia: Fallen King on the DS; Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe on both PS3 and 360; Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 on the Nintendo DS; and some other games that are played on consoles.
Jim: I am slowly getting used to Fallout 3. Starting to look forward to playing it during the day, even though I'm still not utterly enthralled. I also played through Gears 2 again with my brother, and completed Call of Duty: World at War for review. Two of these games I will play in the future. One I will not. Guess which is which.
Colette: It's been a whole lot of Fallout 3 for me this past week and not much else, although I did enjoy the hell out of that Left4Dead demo a few days back.
Chad: I officially decided: I will hard pressed to find a better game than World of Goo this year. That game is so freakin' amazing I don't even have the words to describe it. But, then again, I haven't played Fallout 3 yet. Or Resistance 2. Or Left 4 Dead. Or Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Goddammit, I am so behind!
Also, just starting Dead Space as a type this ...
Conrad: I'm still completely sucked into Fallout 3. I did manage to break away for short doses of Geometry Wars 2 and Rock Band 2.
I wouldn't say it's a short game though. I mean the game relies on eventual mastery of the levels to get those competitive speed-run scores, and so there being less levels means that you are an assload more likely to be able to learn them inside and out to speed the hell up.
Completing the Office Time Trial was the highlight of my week as sneaky path-finding meant I could finish it in just 22 seconds, which is something I will definitely use to speed up my achievement run. Such a sweet game.
Here is a actual episode where they just fuck around with sexual innuendos.
I also started playing Ocarina of Time again yesterday, and I just became Adult Link. Its 10 years since it was released in a couple of days.
yes, i actually like that series.
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift has also been going into the PS3, its immeasurably better than the original and a hell of a lot more fun.
Also Valkyria Chronicles, I think we all know how good that game is.
Just placed an order for the Wii version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and still eagerly awaiting Left 4 Dead. Wow, L4D is going to eat up all my time.
Also a lot of Valkyria Chronicles, and a tiny bit of LittleBIgPlanet.
trading it in for L4D come tuesday
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (on my Wii, never had a Gamecube.) Basically bought it because I love advance wars, saw it's by the same people, and thought Ike was pretty cool in Brawl.
Final Fantasy IV (On GBA). Game save got wiped somehow, but I found "a way" to continue from almost where I left off, so I've been level grinding and I'm almost done with that.
Fallout 3
Left 4 Dead demo (and in a day or so, the full version)
and God Hand, which I picked up for 10 bucks in a Best Buy bargain bin the other week.
Now as for what I have LEFT to play, well Jesus Christ. So many games sitting on my desk, waiting to be played. If only I wasn't sucked completely into LBP at the moment..
Welcome to 8 months ago.
And the original Banjo holds up brilliantly. I love that game as if it were my child.
