Ah, good old Adam Buxton. Here is a victory speech from your newly elected President that kicks ten shades of sh*t out of whatever he actually said.

In other news, videogames happened, which is far more important than some silly election. I feel sorry for Obama, becoming America's first black President the same week that Gears of War 2 launches. There's not really any competition. Besides, everybody knows that the Cole Train would make a superior black Prez.

Anyway, after such senseless rambling, let's check out our games of the week.

Nick: I'm playing a lot of games this week, but the one game I'm not playing is Left 4 Dead. God damn it.

Chad: While everyone is playing all these triple-A, high profile games, I am having fun with LEGO Batman.

This is what a ridiculously long backlog of games does to you.

Jim: This week I played Dead Space (solid game but got sick of it after the mid-point), Fable 2 (the game equivalent of smoke-and-mirrors), Saint's Row 2 (great title but I'm bored of it for now). I have decided I am done with all of those, so I traded them in and got a double-whammy of Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2. I am not having fun with Fallout 3. The random difficulty and the complete lack of ammo is bad enough, but an autosave wiping my main file and fucking me over is not cool. Nor is getting stuck in a piece of scenery. I mean, really, scenery? Is this 1998?

As for Gears, I love it. Only had minimal time with the online, but I do love me some Annex. I'll save my main thoughts for our upcoming Destructoid review though.

Conrad: Fallout 3 continues its reign of terror over my attentions. The further I get in, the more I become fascinated with it (the Dunwich building is win on multiple levels). I dragged the instruments out of my closet to play some Rock Band 2 with peeps on Friday, which was pretty refreshing. Catan and Carcassone saw some action as well.

Finally, I do not have Gears of War 2. I will not have Gears of War 2 until sometime over the summer when I would have the time or inclination to play it. While my request will no doubt result in doubling the efforts of many users, no, I do not want to play a game I do not own with you.

So, stop asking.

Colette: I played some more of the remarkably addictive Ninjatown and the usual helping of My Japanese Coach, gave Fallout 3 a spin, but the thing to really dazzle me this week is Valkyria Chronicles, a game I originally thought I was going to pass on because I thought it was going to be more an SRPG. Turns out it's not quite the case, as the game is unique in just about every way, has some of the most jaw-droppingly beautiful graphics I've seen in some time, and has already intrigued me in the first hour of play with some unusual depth that makes me hungry for more. I can't wait to get some more play time in with it.

Niero: I'm not a strategy game fan.  Actually, I stay the hell away from them most of the time but I am FLIPPING OUT over Valkyria Chronicles.  It is a completely fresh experience, not to mention as gorgeous as a hand-drawn Disney classic.  I hadn't heard much about the game and the demo completely sold me.  I'm actually enjoying it more than Fallout 3 (ducks) which is also interesting.  Why the hell did they leave out head bobbing?  I feel like my character is sitting on a post-apocalyptic magic carpet.  When I'm not on a console  I am glued to Ninjatown, which is epic.  Speaking of turret defense, Colette and I are also teaming up for Pixeljunk Monsters; probably the most fun casual co-op experience we've had since EDF.  Goozex also just sent us Dynasty Warriors 6 which shall eat my Sunday.

DMV: I've been playing WRITE OR DIE, where I get to write 30 pages every week 'till the end of the semester. It's a fun game, I can assure you. But, in between that, I've slipped in some Valkyria Chronicles here and there -- I wish I could spend more time with it, since I'm really enjoying it. Plus, y'know, doing the review on it is also something that's part of those 30 pages this week.

Samit: I got Rock Band 2 this week, so I've been playing around with that on guitar and drums. I hadn't played the Band World Tour mode in the first game -- just the Solo Tour -- so I had no idea you lost fans if you restarted or quit a song. Of course, I was informed that that had also been the case in the original game by about 7 different people on Twitter, so...yeah. I often restart songs if I miss notes at the beginning (especially notes that I know I should be hitting), so I guess I'm going to have to get used to...not doing that.

I also started playing through The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon for review yesterday. I'm about two hours in, and I'll just say that it's relatively fun so far.

I Think Write or Die should win Game of the Year in my personal opinion. Been playing the High School Edition Prequel and it's been pretty "interesting so to say".

But I haven't had school in about a week so Gears 2 stole all my free time :D

Oh god Samit, I had to play Spyro for a dutch site review. Good luck with those Elite monsters... The voice talent attached to that game is ridiculous though!

I've also been playing Write or Die: College Entrance Edition. It's no Gears of War 2, but it's alright.

Been playing the hell out of Left 4 Dead Demo, which I believe is better than some full versions of games I've played.

I got Fallout 3: Survival Edition and Gears of War 2 Limited Edition. So what was I playing? Guitar Hero II, which I finally beat on expert and am able to shelf. Also, working on the Portal gold medal challenges on 360, which is infuriating with the controller, but doing to a glitch that allows you to use cheats and have it count, I'm inching towards a level playing field, even if it's still hard as balls with a joystick.

I've been playing Fallout 3 nonstop and played some Gears of War 2 at a friend's house. I also played a lot of Orange Box and the Mirror's Edge demo repeatedly a million times. Next week I should be picking up Gears 2 and finishing up Fallout 3, if only because I need to move on anyway.

Fallout 3 consumed me and I have yet to beat it. I'm also playing Gears 2 with some friends and probably going to try to beat the campaign by the end of the week.

Jim, I think Obama couldn't afford for Gears 2 to come out at any other time. Clearly, Obama planned to ride the Cole Train's coattails into office, but if Gears had released the week before, the youth vote would have been too preoccupied to turn out to vote.

Also, I just picked up Order of Ecclesia. We'll see how that goes.

@NotAZombie: Necros is a professional hippie, which is like a hobo, except you feel good about it.

I finished Fable II during the week and think from Friday night til about 2 hours ago, I probably accumulated over 30 hours on Gears of War 2. God, I fucking love that game.

I finished the original Saints Row this week. Sadly all I did was boot up the game, head to the first mission on screen and then after a cg sequence I beat it. I should have just done that months ago.

Still no 360, so my copies of Fabe 2, Fallout 3 and Gears of War 2 sits idly on my table at the moment. I think I'll get it back the coming week.

I've only played LittleBigPlanet this week. Great times!

Im still stuck with LBP >.<; R2 came right after election day so haven't even picked it up. Btw, I agree Ron Paul should have been on top, but 2nd to him would have to be Obama, so Cheers.

3 minutes ago I finished the 3rd campaign of Red Alert 3. The game's tongue is stuck so far into its cheek its face is threatening to rupture, spraying cheesy FMV everywhere. I honestly don't know how they'll top this, at least regarding to presentation.

I've been mostly playing FF Tactics again, and I am making headway. I've bumped into Balthier (who pretty much raised my mood after the familiar quotes he does), and I'm putting a few side quests in my back pocket.

(I also took part in a very strange fight where a monster was attacking a 'guest' NPC. Very strange in that I hadn't seen that happen outside of the story...)

I've also had a go on Frontlines (360) and I've already got to grips with it. Enjoying that, too. :O)

Hahaha...I love Adam Buxton.
He went to my school that I finished last year...so that obviously makes me famous.

I've been mostly playing Guitar Hero World Tour as it just came out in the UK just WITHOUT THE FUCKING INSTRUMENTS!!!
Apparently (and this is only for the Xbox release) they're being held back another week...which is lame.
I like the game though anyway...I've made two songs on it already...man...took ages.
They are the best songs ever written though.
