Check out this awesome video, as made by Destructoid reader Phallus Knife Fight. If you did not listen to last week's episode of Podtoid, it will mean nothing to you. Trust me, however, it is very funny and PKF is to be hailed as a god among men. A god, says I!
Speaking of God, we played some videogames this week. As always, you can hit the jump to read about what games we played. So yeah, go do that!
North: I've worked PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe back into my rotation. In some places this game is impossibly difficult. Bring that shit on! I've also just started replaying Suikoden. Remember that? Fantastic game. Forgot how good it was.
Chester: This week I played some Band Hero, Dragon Age: Origins, LEGO Rock Band, and LittleBigPlanet for the PSP. Games. Sometimes I play them.
Concelmo: Besides celebrating NICK CHESTER'S BIRTHDAY in my own special way, I finished Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (so good!) and played through Metroid Prime again. The game is timeless.
Fronz: I played through all of Torchlight in a few days. It's much more easy than I expected, but just as addicting as I had hoped. It really hurts having no outdoor levels and not having it be multiplayer at all, so I probably won't replay it much. However, I'm really looking forward to their Torchlight MMO game that's coming out in the next year or so.
AND! Supposedly the Torchlight level editor is being released in the next week or so. If it's as easy and thorough as it looks, then I'll be hooked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hu1KMHtAJsY
Zimmerman: Played through The Ballad of Gay Tony and got my usual Rock Band fix, predominantly from those Swedish bastards at LEGO. And I have been playing C.O.P. The Recruit on my DS for review, which I'm still not entirely sure how to feel about.
I also put a little bit of time into Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I'm not all that fond of the new "Constructo" weapons, but that's about the only complaint I can come with for it. Great, great game.
Holmes: I psyched myself up to actually give Uncharted 2 the old college try, despite the fact that nothing about the game looks appealing to me, when my PS3's disc drive suddenly shat the bed. This happened in the middle of a fevered game of Critter Crunch, which is weird because there wasn't even a disc in the disc drive at the time.
So instead of Uncharted 2, I played Disaster: Day of Crisis on the Wii, which was sort of like seeing Treasure of the Four Crowns instead of Raiders of the Lost Ark. I can't say I was entirely unhappy about how things turned out. I've always preferred Four Crowns to Raiders anyway.
Also played UmJammer Lammy (can't get past the sixth level with Parappa), Trace Memory 2, A Boy and his Blob, Domino Rally (for the soundtrack) Space Invaders Extreme 2, Half-Minute Hero, and Wii Fit Plus, all in fairly small doses.
Razak: I want back and played some Modern Warfare to get ready for next week. Wanted to get all caught up on the story. I'm damn near beating A Boy and His Blob as well.
Sarkar: I've been playing Uncharted 2: Among Thieves thanks to the generosity of the Destructoid community (I love you all so much), and, uh, that game's pretty good. Yeah. By that, I mean that I'm eight or nine chapters in, and already, it's easily the best game I've played this year. As I said on Twitter last night, the game's characters are relentlessly charming, even more so than in the original. I hope everyone who played the game jumped in the pool atop the Hotel Shangri-La, just like I did!
In addition, my review copy of LEGO Rock Band arrived on Friday, so I spent a while making my way through the story mode. That game has a pretty kick-ass soundtrack with a lot of awesome songs that are fun to play as well, like "Two Princes" by Spin Doctors and "Fire" by Jimi Hendrix. (And even the less awesome songs are fun to play -- I actually enjoyed Good Charlotte's "Boys and Girls" on Expert guitar.) Like Uncharted 2, the game is very charming: I found myself laughing at every single one of the story cut-scenes. Little LEGO dudes are cute, yo.
PerLee: Oh god, people will hate me for this, but I've been playing this amazing XBL Indie game called Beat Hazard that is a twin stick shooter, except it's all based on the music you play. Since I don't have my 360 connected to my computer, the only music I've been playing is, um, the Twilight: New Moon soundtrack. Which is ripped to my 360.
SHUT UP. IT'S REALLY GOOD AND HAUNTING AND BEAUTIFUL. ALL THE COOL KIDS LISTEN TO IT. IRONICALLY.
Aziz: Played through the Left 4 Dead 2 demo. Right before that, I realized I have Hexic on my 360 that I didn't know about. So lost 2 hours of my day to that!
Sterling:Left 4 Dead 2 demo (waiting on Valve to send me the full game. They said they can't wait to send it. I can't wait to get it!). Borderlands has been my main game for the past week, and I'm finding it a very addictive, cathartic experience. It's great to just immerse one's self in the game and spend a good few hours vacuuming up loot. I also started replaying Abe's Oddysee for the first time in, like, ten years, but found I no longer have the patience for it. Then there was more Rock Band Unplugged, as usual.
Its been a slow gaming week, but I've been returning to Left 4 Dead. I remember people saying that NO ONE will be playing that game by this time next year. It feels so good to know how wrong they are. Anyway, I've been doing lots of versus and singleplayer on that. The SP mainly so I can admire the level design and extract whatever story I can. After playing the levels so many times new things are popping out to me and the story is communicating itself much clearer than it ever has. Zombie apocalypses are one of my favorite genres in story-telling.
Anyway I also remembered I have the second Penny Arcade Adventures game sitting on my HDD so I played a few hours of that. Its hilarious, charming, and surprisingly simplistic. I get an adult "Mario & Luigi" vibe from the game.
Lastly, I tried out the Torchlight demo...and holy shit. This game is mine at some point. Its incredibly addicting. I just can't afford it at the moment. L4D2, Dragon Age, and Modern Warfare 2 are draining these pockets.
I CAN WALK IN TWO DAYS. TWO. TWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Dragon Age Origins since Tuesday. That's literally all I've been playing. I love me a good Bioware RPG, but this one is just downright addicting. A little bit of Borderlands here and there.
I will be playing Dragon Age all through next week until the 17th. If it's finished or not, it will be abandoned for L4D2 and Assassin's Creed 2.
Been playing Borderlands off and on. Just recently got back into Left 4 Dead. So basically switching between killing zombies and midgets that look like they are from the Road Warrior. Fun times!
a small bit of Braid, a level of Band of Bugs for the first time probably this year, and Mass Effect...I will beat that game before the sequel comes out.
Uncharted 2. I beat it. Every minute was a blast. Gonna play through it again on Hard right now, even though I have Valkyria Chronicles sitting unopened. I just have to get the Platinum trophy.
Also, uh, a little more Mother 3. I've been at it for 2 months and I'm about 8 hours in. Add in all the times I've accidentally loaded up an old emulator save and I've probably played for 11 hours. Still, very awesome. I just have trouble playing PC games for a long time like a console game.
I just poured a ton of time into Kingdom Hearts DS, trying to knock out as many challenges and missions I could in addition to the main story that I'm almost finished with.
i've been playing the old wii games that i've finally gotten around to buying. sports resort (which is quite good, if you're one of the 3 people who haven't played it), madworld (repetitive, kinda meh), and re4 wii (cause this game is rad as hell!). why isn't there a real re game for wii?
playing retro game challenge on ds (not as good as i expected), along with picto bits (getting into it for the second time).
super hyped for mario and zelda in the next month, also planning on giving the bit trip series some time. hopefully cave story is out soon as well.
Just finished Uncharted 2, Brutal Legend, and Halo:ODST and all of them were really good games except Brutal Legend. Also just got started on Dragon Age Origins good game so far.
I beat Mario and Luigi a few days ago and I've been trying to finish up Little King's Story as well. As of now, I just have the final battle to do. This week will be devoted to playing Torchlight and Dragon Age.
have i told you that Team Fortress 2 is like cocaine? because I CANNOT STOP PLAYINGGG
Started to play The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages. Is challenging and good but... I feel like its waaaaay too slapped on the deal of telling me to go to the next level. I feel the urge of a side quest to give me a break for a moment of those dungeons.
Rediscovered how addictive is Tetris for GameBoy. that thing is dangerous.
Advanced a lot on World of Goo, my God this game is so amazing!
And some left 4 Dead 2 demo too, its cool. I like the new strategy of the new items like the defibrillator.
I finally got a new 360 and I started playing Batman: AA. Its fucking awesome. I actually don't mind much of the collect-athon because it unlocks past character bios and the Interview tapes are damn cool. I don't read comics but the insight on past characters and the more popular ones is cool.
Also, Ill get into Borderlands sooner or later. And Dragon Age.
I played the Torchlight demo and I am seriously thinking about purchasing it.
Forza Triple and Geo-Defense Swarm (iPod). Both are incredibly addicting. Also got Demon's Souls and played that for an hour. While I'm sure that game would make me suffer, it really engrossed me in that little time span.
I have been very slowly progressing through Lego Rock Band. I promised the lil' bro I wouldn't beat the tour without him but between my work, college, his school, and both of our homework duties it's been difficult to find time. This is why I play shit without him.
I have also been frustratingly waiting for Prince of Persia and Halo 3: ODST from Gamefly. I haven't even been subscribed for a full month and I'm considering pulling myself out. They sent the games out almost two weeks ago and after the first I called and they said it probably got lost in the mail so they resent it Thursday. Mind you the shipping location is like 3 hours away so I'm giving them 24 hours to get the game to my house (it took that long for Arkham Asylum and WET so why not?) and here it is Sunday and still nothing. G'dammit.
I really don't want to pull my subscription though because I have a lot of catching up to do and I have no money. :(
And if one more person mentions Goozex I swear to God...
@froman46992: Actually, if you read the sentence carefully, you'll note that I'm surprised I enjoyed playing the song. I think Good Charlotte's music is pretty damn awful.
Been playing Borderlands (PC) with a friend CO-OP and we never play it SP, up to level 28 so far. Im about 12 hours into Dragon Age: Origins (PC). Amazing amazing game, loving it to bits. It's been a while since i played an RPG this deep. Lastly i have been working through Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge (XBOX 1) for a rival website's podcast. I cant stress enough how fun dog fighting is (the plane vs plane one, not literal dogs.....cos thats wrong..)
Dragon Age is incredible, it sucked me in completely - to the point I'm already thinking how to set my schedule in the coming weeks to leave a place for a second playthrough.
Beat the World Ends with You, Final boss was almost impossible because you had to fight it by yourself. Moved onto Devil Survivor, where Beldr continues to be a pain in the arse. Aside from that and some Uncharted 2 for FnF, I've just been reading Green Lantern stuff for that whole Blackest Night crossover thing. Wait, I've also been playing Disgaea DS.
I started playing Batman: Arkham Asylum (slightly overrated, but great nonetheless) and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. I also beat Batman:AA and am at the final case in Apollo Justice.
I bought Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on XBLA, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. I'll probably start playing that, continue with Metroid Prime Trilogy and Secret of Monkey Island this week. it'll be a busy week with videogames...

Games: Dragon Age, and more Dragon Age. I plan on beating it at least 5 times, excluding the 6 origin stories.
