This week's comedy video comes courtesy of sketch show A Bit of Fry & Laurie, starring the marvelous comic actors Hugh Laurie (who American readers will probably recognize from House) and Stephen Fry (who everyone should recognize as a God). Although their sketches together were hit and miss, the show remains very charming, and has some nuggets of gold like the above sketch, which became a cult favorite among my huge group of two friends at college. Those two friends included myself.

In more pertinant news, we played videogames this week, and you may now hit the jump to see what games were enjoyed by the Destructoid crew.

Justin: I played through Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots which was INCREDIBLE. That fight on top of the ship was the most satisfying thing ever.

Topher: RHYTHM TENGOKU GOLD IS CONSUMING ME.

Niero: FF VI is tits. That is all. Also, Eternity's Child is HARD.

Jim: Completed Portrait of Ruin, including the Sister Mode and have been struggling to enjoy The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass. I really loathe the touch screen controls at this point. The touch screen is meant to enhance a game by adding an extra level of control, not destroy a game by removing all other methods of input and becoming an overbearing chain around your neck. Not only that, the constant revisiting of the temple and having to play it over and over again is lazy and abysmal, not something becoming of a Zelda at all. The worst part is that there is an excellent game there, buried under shite. Tragic.

Also, Magical Starsign and Theme Park

Fronz: So many new games and Christmas leftovers to get to. Yet, I still find myself doing Baal runs. It's great to finally go back and play through Diablo II.

Conrad: Geometry Wars Evolved 2 is like time-traveling. I managed to completely lose two hours without even noticing just in the Pacifism game mode. Trying to get back into Lost Odyssey, but I always wind up getting distracted from RPGs, no matter how good they might be.

DMV: Siren: New Translation, Metroid: Zero Mission, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, Pixeljunk Eden, Virtua Tennis 3, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, and some Axis and Allies. Note that these are all boardgames.

Colette: Rhythm Tengoku Gold and Final Fantasy IV. That is all.

Grim: When I wasn't spending way too much time trying to improve my Geometry Wars 2 scores, I was playing Mercenaries in anticipation for Mercs 2 which comes out at the end of the month.

Dale: I'm enjoying the import version of Korg DS-10 the most. I have review copies that of Spectral Force 3, Zoids Assault, and Izuna 2 that I need to finish ... at all about the same time. Triple fisting, if you will. I just got a touch of Soul Calibur IV in this weekend. The Apprentice is a cheap piece of shit. Keep your nerdy bullshit out of one of my favorite fighting franchises, Lucas!

Brad: Oh man, I just finished up Secret Agent Clank for review. I am also still trying to figure out how to position may hands appropriately for the "Hard" difficulty setting on Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Last night, I booted up Supreme Commander and realized yet again just how poorly RTS performs on consoles. I'm always left wondering about HaloWars after I play these games.

Nick: I lost two hours last night to Order Up! on the Wii, which may or may not have had something to do with the chef's hat that comes in the game's box. Also, PixelJunk Eden, Mister Slime, Soulcalibur IV, Siren, and -- surprise! -- Rock Band.

Hamza: Double surprise! Halo 3.

This week, I'll be very busy though, as I get hands-on with Mushroom Men for the Wii, a full day of Dead Space, and I'll be seeing a handful of Koei games. My gaming week will end on Saturday as I got up to my friends place in Sacramento for a night of BBQ, beer and Halo 1 LAN fun.

Halo 1 LAN, Hamza? Oh man, those were the days. I wonder if I could convince anybody down here to do that.

I'm wasting my life away playing FFIV. I think I will be one of those psychos who plays the game three times to get all the augments.

I've also been exploring some PC games on Steam and Game Tap

Just when i thought i had become pro at GW2, i looked at the leaderboards and found that people had scores in the hundreds of millions. So... yeah, another blow to my self esteem.

@ Cartman

No shit. I thought I was the man when I got the millionaire achievement. The leaderboards quickly and violently put me in my place.

Soul Calibur 4 consumed my online time. Something about wanting to get better with Xianghua is driving me insane. PixelJunk Eden is consuming my time but I get pissed off that the PSP has no button map to go down real quick. And I just started Apollo Justice this weekend after finishing Trials and Tribulations.

This week I've been struggling for the last few achievements for COD4 - wich included beating the game on veteran, mile high club and a couple of intels. I got the last achievement today.
The other game I've been playing this week, is Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.

Goals for future weeks:
- Do some progress in Lost Odyssey.
- Do some progress in Final Fantasy Tactics A2.
- Get the last few achievements in Bioshock, before I sell it and rebuy the PS3 version.
- Get the last few achievements in Assassins Creed so I can finaly put it back on the shelf and never play it again.
- Beat Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
- Beat Half Life 2 + ep 1 & 2 in Orange Box.
- Beat the NOT Chrono Trigger ROM I NOT downloaded a while ago.
- Finaly dig up some patience to get your characters strong enough to defeat the last boss in Final Fantasy III.

Is no one else playing EDEN? I am loving this game and find it very addictive.

It reminds me so much of a game I loved on the spectrul 48k called Bugaboo (The Flea).

2 games have dominated my week. I've been gradually going through Soul Calibur 4 in my usual methodical way cursing Talim for being right at the bottom of the selection screen therefore demanding that her weapons are among the last I'll unlock. Also Tower of Lost Souls is awesome. And the character creator is awesome.

When not on that (or in any spare few minutes) I've been ploughing through Professor Layton and the Curious Village at last given that its still not out in Europe so I found an import copy in a games store in town. Planning on reviewing that pretty soon. Just to clarify that I did not use an R4 to play it, as I don't have one and never will.

The three games that have kept me busy this week has been Oblivion (which I have gotten back into after not touching it in over 7 months), Izuna 2, and Tecmo Super Bowl on my r4.

Also I got to play Rhythm Tengoku Gold and I have to say, I don't see what all the fuss is over. Its not a bad game, but I'm just not getting into it as much as Ouendan and Taiko Drum Master.

Jim, wtf are you talking about? The controls didn't hinder the experience for me, it was that god damn temple. I'm one temple visit away from the final boss, but I'm sick of that fucking temple.

Mostly playing Viva Pinata (I got a Horstachio!), but I also ran through Halo 3 on legendary (in co-op), so that's finally out of the way.

I've managed to tear myself away from Team Fortress 2 long enough to play UT3, Half-Life 2, and Bioshock. I'll continue with that this week while sharpening my Demoman skills.

Glad I'm not the only one being sucked in by Rhythm Tengoku Gold. I've also been playing a bit of God Hand to break it up, working my way through Normal.
