Quantcast

I hear that you're all watching some bowl of soup in America or something, while we honest Britons do important things like using the Internet, looking at the Internet, and watching videos on the Internet. Because nobody's reading right now, I can get away with saying things like "bum" and "nipples" on the front page.

That felt good, but playing games makes me feel even better. It's that time again, where the Destructoid staff tells us what they've been playing this week. I really can't think of anything else to say, but who cares? Nobody's actually reading this, so I'm getting away with wasting time on the frontpage of a big gaming blog. I can't believe I tricked these bum nipples into hiring me.

Also, the jump. Hit it.

Jonathan Holmes (through Suffolk he roams): With all the Brawl news to filter through this week, it's been tough to get to the actual playing of the videogames. Other than a little No More Heroes (for the alt ending) and a little Endless Ocean (because Chad's review was so awesome), I haven't played a game all week.

DAMN YOU, NON-STOP BRAWL NEWS FLOOD!

Topher Cantler (I've touched his antlers): I've been playing lots of OMG Tomopop is launching, which everyone else will finally be able to play this week. In the meantime, I've been enjoying Castle of Shikigami 2, Trigger Heart Exelica, Radirgy, and Mars Matrix on Dreamcast, and Rez HD on 360. Also, I totally missed contributing to this post the last couple of times and no one noticed. I don't know if that's good or bad.

Nick Chester (he's like Uncle Fester): Doom RPG, PixelJunk Monsters, Assassin's Creed, Burnout Paradise (both PS3 and 360), Rock Band, and the game where I unpack stuff I've moved from one house to another.

Colette Bennett (reads books by Sennett): I'm replaying Chrono Trigger. It's flawless. This was briefly interrupted by a short stint with NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, in which I discovered NiGHTS can talk. I NEVER WANTED NiGHTS TO TALK! THANKS FOR RUINING MY ILLUSION HE WAS MUTE, YOU C*NTS! Although the levels are fun, the cut scenes are made for an 8 year old. I feel cheated somehow.

Chad Concelmo (tickled my Elmo): Retro week! Besides watching Puppy Bowl IV (best show EVER!), I played some Shining Force, the Shinobi trilogy, Super Mario Bros. 3, Devil's Crush, Air Zonk, 1080 Snowboarding, Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. I know those last two aren't retro, but ... shhhhh ... quiet time.

Faith (a wraith): Oh joy of joys!  I got a new computer this week and finally have the system requirements I need to play World of Warcraft. Bloody game took a whole day almost to install though. Between the actual game install and the three patch updates that took like 9 hours to download, I spent most of my day playing other games and watching TV.

Worst of all, I found out that I have to buy a new copy of the game, because once my trial time runs out, my used copy's authorization code won't allow me to upgrade my account to a normal one. Good thing I got the game for free from a friend or I would be really annoyed right now. He didn't know and neither did I.

Also this week I've play Endless Ocean on the Nintendo Wii, Cooking Mama 2 and Final Fantasy XII on the Nintendo DS, Chess Master, Puzzle Quest and Carcassonne on XBLA and, Paper Mario on the Virtual Console.

Hamza Aziz (rhymes with as is?): I've been playing the new ranked Big Team Battles on Halo 3. Also, I borrowed my little cousin's DS to play Mario and Sonic At the Olympics  to prevent myself from falling asleep at the family party last night.

Joseph Leray (you ALL thought "gay," stop pretending you didn't): I've been barreling through Persona 3. It is, without a doubt, one of the best RPGs I've ever played in my life. Other than that, a little Phantom Hourglass on the road, and Rock Band with friends.

P.S. Deep Purple can go straight to hell.

BlindsideDork (eats with a spork): I picked up my copy of Turok on Thursday and beat it Friday. The weekend found me plunging into the multiplayer which actually had me craving to play more while I was playing Team Fortress 2. Now that is a tough task...it screams YES PLEASE!

Oh, and of course some No More Heroes/Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings action is always welcomed!

TheGoldenDonut (he's a G-Pro nut): Not a whole lot this week; mostly just making some progress in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles.

GameBoi (straight to wok with Amoy): I've been going through the Devil May Cry games again, in preparation for DMC4. By the way, who is the new poser you play as in the demo? DANTE FTW!

HuskyHog (he's the man now, dog): Been busy with a lot of things this week, haven't had much time to get my game on. I did, however, get the chance to play a little Rock Band with a few community members, there's nothing like getting a full band together.

Jim Sterling (not as good as Burling): After a bout of insomnia, I went and bought Koei's Fatal Inertia at a cheap price. In my sleepless state, I deemed it to be good, and it was at first. Now it's actively ruining my life and I regret saying nice things. Still, not long until DW6 comes ... not long ... not long. I also got Rez HD, but the third boss can c*nt off out of it.

Otherwise, the usual suspects -- Guitar Hero III, Call of Duty 4 and a little Warriors Orochi.

Joe Burling (better than Sterling): I've been knocking little sister holes. That's right, I'm talking about Bioshock (my choice for GOTY), only this time I'm saving little sisters and playing on hard. Then there is Super Mario Galaxy (some of your choices for GOTY), which has found a special place close to my heart right next to Gameboi and Cheeburga. Other than that, I've been picking through demos on the XBLM. Also, by the time you read this I may have already beaten Phoenix Wright Trials and Tribulations. I should have my new motherboard sometime this week so once I get everything up and running you'll be seeing a lot more of me. (I miss you all!) I've also been thinking about picking up Fable, which I've never played.

What have YOU 'orrible lot been playing?

I'm playing COD4, after realizing that my computer can, in fact, run it with a very good framerate.

I've been rocking the ass tits off of Chrono Trigger and Lunar: Silver Star Saga, interrupted by some TF2. CT is a big one for me though, I've only got one more ending to go before I've seen them all, and it only took me replaying it like 100 times. :D

Anyone else get all the endings to Chrono Trigger?

The usual, Rock Band, CoD4, TF2 and doing a dice throw to see if my 360 will let me play Mass Effect without getting a disk read error.

Oh, and I think I'm almost done with DQM-Joker on the DS.

I've been playing 'Ubisoft must not think Canada is a real country so they haven't released No More Heroes here yet'. It's not very fun.

I've also been playing some Zack and Wiki. God, I love that game.

I've been playing No More Heroes and One Piece Unlimited Adventure, both for my Wii, which hasn't gotten this much love in quite a long time.

They're both pretty good.

i had fable on when i had an xbox. great game, and you can have "ful frontal sex", well not full frontal anyway but you can do it. i been playing alot of oblivion:gotye, i hadn't played it in months, also a hell of a lot of UT3, i am really good at that game for some unknown reason, i suck at resistance and warhawk so i'm hyped that i'm good at something online. i let my brother play some too, he kicked ass for his first time on it. and i love creating a server that says "pro's only" and still no great people show up.i'm getting kicked from people's servers once they realise i'm any good so i've been stuck hosting my own server. then i'm unstoppable with my rules. if you think your unrealy good, try me, i am unrelenting. PSN: Qraze i even have to let myself be killed or people will leave. i'm not lying i'm pretty good. also i like to run the server "funhouse" which always has lo-grav,slo-mo,sup beserk and two custom mutators. #1_in_the_hood_G!!

I’m with Orcist — I don’t ever see myself beating the solo guitar career in Rock Band on Expert. I have three songs left on this particular tier (I think it’s the last one): Deep Purple’s “Highway Star”, “Flirtin’ With Disaster” by Molly Hatchet, and mother fucking “Green Grass and High Tides” by The Outlaws. Grr...

Anyway, I played some of that to try out my recently downloaded DLC (“All The Small Things”, Oasis pack)...but aside from Wednesday Night Warcawks, it was all CoD 4.

I actually played a little TF2 outside of TFT/FNF, and realized playing with the dToid crew has made me better than 90% of the unwashed masses.

Aside from that, Samurai Wester was fun to hack'n'slash up this week and ZOMG started Okami tonight =O.

Just wrapped up Final Fantasy X, part of my seemingly never-ending quest to play all the PS2 titles I missed when I refused to replace my system when it got the dreaded DRE.

Otherwise lots of CoD4 and Halo 3, sprinkled with a bit of Burnout Paradise and some Rez HD.

Oh, and Jeanne D'arc has been by my side in the portable realm. The battles are fun, but man is the story told horribly.
