This video, created by photographer Robbie Cooper for The New York Times, showcases the various faces kids make as they're playing videogames. Everyone's faces are different, from some looking immersed, some looking bored, and so on. One kid even cries a little bit, but that might be because he wasn't blinking. Actually, I noticed quite a few of these kids not blinking at all.
I hate playing videogames in front of other people. Why, you ask? Because I unconsciously leave my mouth open when I play like a couple of these kids. I don't know why I do it, it just happens.
Do any of you make weird faces when playing games? Show us your gamer face in the comments!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

And wtf was up with the zombie chick? Seriously creepy.
When I play games I tend to kind of scowl and sometimes I forget to close my mouth. I also tend to talk to the game. And, depending on how I'm fairing, there might be a lot of cursing.
Honestly, I sold a copy of Left 4 Dead to a lady and her son this afternoon, and he couldn't have been more than 13. I've had parents buy their 6 year olds San Andreas. And, if we were really honest, how many of us played games comparable to that in our youths? I get the shock factor to an extent. But maybe I'm just jaded. :/
when playing online (especially Left 4 Dead) I'm sure it's a lot more expressive
also lol @ the blank-faced girl and the boys that look like they're fapping
It's interesting to see these kids game, alot of them waggle their tongue like a wiimote... I wonder if I do that? *gets out camcorder*
lol
i prefeer to say "how our emotions express what our hearts are feeling"
...
My eyes were hurting pretty badly.
Where I'm playing also effects the faces I make, differently depending on what I'm playing. If I'm at my friend's house and playing Lost Odyssey I'm far more likely to scowl, probably because my friend is an infuriating backseat gamer. Whereas if I'm at home I'm far more likely to have a straight face.
I, too noticed that there was an overabundance of gunfire, shitty music, and explosions. That means no RPGs. If they're going to do stuff like this it should be all-inclusive.
ehhh, no. I don't really jump all over the place when I game. My father on the other hand looks like he is playing the Wii when he is simply playing Xbox...
