Professional troll Gameloft is at it again, and this time they were 'inspired' by Split/Second for their upcoming Fast Five: The Movie: Official Game -- Fast Five being the fifth The Fast and the Furious movie.
The sad thing is that the trailer actually makes it look better, in terms of graphics, than the Split/Second iPhone and iPad games. Whether it's actually better or worse in terms of gameplay is something we'll have to wait and see though.
If you intend to make a statement against the continuous rip-offs, you could just buy the Split/Second iOS games instead. But then you can also be sure that Gameloft will later say "See, we even raise more awareness and revenue for the games we rip off!"
It's a lose/lose.

Gameloft is currently working on Six-Guns for iOS devices and uploaded this trailer as evidence of their deeds. It's a looker, considering the platform, and the little teases of gameplay shown are enticing. It is going to be a "freemium" game, though, so I'll have to get a look at what the microtransactions look like before I start getting too excited.
I've given up trying to defend Gameloft. It knows what its doing and doesn't need the protection, so here's yet another shamelessly "inspired" game coming soon to mobile devices -- Six Guns.
This open-world cowboy game...
