GameFly already has all-you-can-play console gaming, but now they're adding on something similar for PC gamers. Acquiring IGN's Direct2Drive set them up to be able to hundreds of PC and Mac titles and play them as you please.
A beta is coming up, and they plan to have a hundred titles ready to go for then. They say they should have "hundreds" by the official holiday launch of the service and its client.
A Los Angeles event is planned for September 8. Joystiq says that attendees will receive a beta code for themselves and a friend. If you're not in the LA area you'll want to hit the website and submit your email address.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Damn. That's a pretty interesting service. I can't imagine the amount of work which has gone into creating the contracts behind it, though. One would think the Games Industry would be baying for blood at this kind of thing.
"set them up to be able to hundreds of PC and Mac titles"
be able to.... stream? buy? rent? explode? deep-fry?
@metroscrap: One would hope they see this as a new way to fight piracy or aka people who pirate to try it out. IDK though we'll see.
