Game Suppli: vitamin supplements for gamers

Game Suppli: vitamin supplements for gamers photo
     japan

As gamers, we have a sort of reputation for being unhealthy. I'm not saying that all of us slam bottles Mountain Dew and cram a slice of pizza in between rounds, but you know what I'm talking about. There's gamers out there than can use all the help they can get.

What would it take get a gamer to take a vitamin supplement? Telling him that it would help his or her game might do the trick, right? Maybe that was the idea behind Game Suppli, a vitamin supplement developed specifically for gamers.

Trends in Japan says that there are two varieties of this Japanese product. The Blueberry one is designed for long play and eye stamina, while the DHA variety is packed with omega-3 fatty acids to help improve concentration. They're being sold in packets of 30 for 880 yen, and are intended to be taken twice daily.

What do you think? Is it silly to think that little pills will improve your game? Or is this a trick to get unhealthy gamers to take their vitamins? What ever happened to Flintstone vitamins? The purple ones were good!

these supplement people have been going nuts for years, trying to get anyone they can to use their products.

I always lump this sort of stuff into the same category as those magnetic bracelets and detox foot pads

Balancing one's vitamin intake is fine (great it the long run I imagine) but unless its caffeine in a pill, I can't see much use gamers would have for these.

These are not as awesome as gummy bear vitamins. Which, by the way, are also a clever ploy to get people to eat vitamins.

I could probably use extra vitamins in my diet too. I eat mainly beef all the time.

To me they kinda looked like SD cards for some readon.

I say, if you want vitamins, eat them IN the food. It's healthier than those suppliments. My doctor told me you pee most of that out before it even gets in your body. Gives new meaning to pissing away your money.

They should have genre-specific suplements. Brain boosters for point-and-click, concentration supplements for FPSs, or something like that.

Hoygeit:

Most of the more hardcore competitive players like to stay away from those "stimulants" like caffeine pills and energy drinks, mostly due to their tendency to onlu give you temporary energy and sacrifice a player's ability to concentrate and focus.

This product seems "legit" in that is IS the kinda stuff a competitive gamer would best be suited for using, but pointless to buy it anyway since I can go get some vitamins at my local Wal-Mart for probably half the price.

There's loads of on going research that suggests that vitamin tablets in general don't work, especially the multivitamin ones.

I wouldn't bother with these simply because they just can't be absorbed into the body efficiently enough to see a real difference.

I've heard--and I might do some experimentation myself--that this class of supplements called nootropics can boost one's mental abilities, and that might have some bleedthrough into reflexes and problem-solving that games require.

It's probably good just because gamers eat like shit, but seeing as I eat pretty healthy, I don't really have any need for such an opportunistic product.
