Game Over: Stories of E.T. and industry failures uncovered in new trailer

Jul 28 // Brett Makedonski    @Donski3

Documentaries are the best

You ever hear of game developers living like rock stars? That's what Atari was doing back in the '80s when it was on top of the world. Then E.T. happened, and well, it all went wrong very quickly.

As part of Xbox's push toward original programming, Atari: Game Over chronicles the rise and fall of the biggest videogame publisher during the 1980s and the subsequent industry crash. It'll air on Xbox platforms later this year, meaning that you don't have to go sit around a filthy New Mexico landfill like others did to learn about history.
