I still can't decide if I want this. Love Atlus, I'm psyched for them that they got a mainstream game like this but...I just really don't like the books. They were good for a while, but I soon found most of my favorite characters dead or held hostage behind chapters and chapters of crap I didn't care about.
I read the first book and then I heard the series were coming and I started watching that. Loved it even more than the book (which is very rare). what's this game even about anyway? Is it an action RPG or what? :o
*comes back from YouTube* Ok so it's not a very good looking game when it comes to pure graphical fidelity, but it looks charming enough I think. Now we just need to see some actual gameplay?
Game of Thrones would work well as a Total War style RTS, I'd buy that in a second.
The books are great up to a feast for Crows which ground the momentum right down for me, although book 2 and 3 do slow down a bit.
I don't regret a single death of one of those characters, none were cheap. The red wedding if filmed well will possibly be one of the best peices of drama ever in a tv series, I really can't wait.

I agree with all of that. Feast for Crows was a bitch to get through because there was so much stuff that didn't really matter. Who gives a fuck about what Cersei thinks? How she feels? She's a cunt. That's all you need to know about her. Move along. There were some pretty awesome moments in that book, though.
Also, the red wedding is going to suck on TV. There's no way they can film anything as tragic and grotesque as what's in my head. But if they do pull it off... it will definitely be an unbelievable TV moment.

People are mad that a new town was invented? There is a huge part of the world that hasn't been explored in the books.
Considering the amount of families and towns in Westeros it seems weird they would even have to make one up. I doubt this takes place during the novels? But either way I love the franchise and will be keeping an eye on this.
