Game music and rap mash-up Vinyl Fantasy 7 shut down photo

Just as quick as game music and rap mash-up collection Vinyl Fantasy 7 came, it went. It was beat down by the man. Team Teamwork followed up their last, Ocarina of Rhyme, with this new Final Fantasy-themed project.

Early this month, their official website went down. They were hit with a cease and desist. That was fine, as the band had a Bandcamp account. But that didn't last long either, as Bandcamp hit them with the cease-and-desist thing. Tim Jacques, the brain behind Team Teamwork, had to pull it all down to save ass.

No worries, though. This is the internet. Nothing dies on the internet. I can still pull down the Fensler Films when I feel the need. You can find this too. I looked. It's there. It's worth the download.

I love how Nintendo is so supportive of their fans, and how much Square Enix hates them.

Squeenix can go fuck themselves, they haven't been able to come out with anything fresh for years and they treat their fans like this.

What's next? OC Remix?

Wow, these guys must really like our games to make all this music.

We're honored, touched really, but you better f*king stop it before we sue the hell out of you.

Sincerely,

Square Enix

As long as it isn't porn of the shopkeeper babe from Lords of Thunder, you can find it. Always.

@Magnalon
They look the other way with hacks of you-know-what (99% of them are terrible anyway), but make a full-scale fan movie and it's another story.

According to Team Teamwork, in an interview on Wired.com it wasn't Square Enix but M.O.P.'s representation that sent the copyright violation notice

@Ganjookie

Not to mention that he's white, so assuming he's black because it's a rap mash-up album makes the OP's comment even more racist.

How do I know he's white, you ask? He's one of my good friends. No, really. I work with his girlfriend.

I need another fan tribute to FFVII and Ocarina of time like a fish needs a bicycle. Plus, I had already heard better.

Maybe if this has horrible J-pop and a derivative storyline, Square Enix would have been behind this 100%

I didn't like Ocarina of Rhyme though I liked the idea of it and appreciated what it was trying to do. Haven't listened to Vinyl Fantasy. Maybe I'll hunt it down but I'm up to my ear lobes in video game music of all kinda right now.

This. And it was only for the one song. Team Teamwork decided to pull the mixtapes of Bandcamp until he settled the whole thing. Bandcamp did not make him take the mix tapes down.

I think thats what they get for trying to take money for 2 cds composed almost entirely of other peoples complete songs. Ocarina of Rhyme was free and they didn't ask for money when it came out, but I noticed the new one was asking for donations when you tried to download it. I don't really know a lot about copy right law, but I would imagine if they had not been asking for money they could have probably legally sidestepped that whole issue. Regardless, the cd is on the internet now any one that wants it can get it for free.

You could put 0 dollars as the amount and get it. A lot of artists put out mixtapes the same way.

@Rammstein: The dude who did the mixtapes is white.

the gay thing isn't a big deal, although the subtle implication that they have just brutally fisted each other doesn't sit well with me. if they had been shooting stuff, wouldn't their guns also be blood spattered?
Best regards, Anna, CEO of debian iscsitarget and itunes
