Game Informer's April cover story reveals BioShock 2's Big Sister photo

It looks like the rumors of a "female Big Daddy" were true.

The April issue of Game Informer is set to reveal all of the hot new details on 2K Marin's upcoming BioShock 2 in a ten-page spread. The description on Game Informer's Web site doesn't reveal too much (they want you to buy the issue, after all), but does mention a return to Rapture where "the Big Sister awaits you."

In today's Take-Two investors conference call, 2K refused to specify which platforms BioShock 2 would be released on, leading to rampant speculation and sending waves across the Internet. 2K had previously mentioned that the title was "destined" for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, so take that how you will.

Hit the jump to see the full cover of April's Game Informer, and peep the "Big Sister" in all her glory.

How bout: Big Ladies

Who thinks that some big fat bitch is going to go on the news and complain that the term "big sister" in the video game makes her feel fat and ugly inside and that something needs to be done to change it, but not her eating habbits?

..........Just sayin

From the Kotaku post about this:

..."papoose cage."

Papoose cage in Bioshock 2 confirmed!

This looks cool, I really enjoyed the first game, but I hope all the new developments aren't semi-rehashes of what has already been done.

Little brothers would be a bit uninspired imo, though little daddies could work , especially if they were 13 years old and played saints row...

At first I wasn't that impressed but then I started really looking into it and then I was pretty amazed. My level of excitement for Bioshock 2 has certainly been raised but I don't have high hopes for it.

One of the Big Daddy types was named "Rosie", I always figured those were the ladydaddies.

I am cautiously optimistic about this.

But seriously, I'm playing the original for the first time this week and really enjoying it, hopefully the sequel will live up to it.

If they really have Little sister's in cages on their shoulders, does that mean that harvesting/rescuing isn't a possiblity?

It seems to me those little sisters would be dead as fuck after a fight.

Still worried where the continuity for a sequel is. Why the cute little carry basket? Is it to protect the invincible little sisters, or just give them a lift? Looks uncomfortable.

Is that an adam needle on it's arm? If so, why would you need the little sisters anymore? Are these just supposed to be more agile? Like an armored spider splicer?

A million other questions but they're just chasing the continuity concern again.

Although the design is pretty cool, you'd think in all those recordings you found in rapture there might have been some mention of a Big Sister.

*Has gone from "cautiously optimistic" to "skeptical but willing to be proven wrong"*

Now that I look at it again, the costume seems a little strange for something that was made in the 1960's

The Big Daddy suit is slightly embelished, but is very similar to deep-sea-diving suits that have been actually used.

The Big Sister looks like she's from space.

PS -- i love the shoulder cage for sisters to sit in. looks great. as for the water tank on her back... i'm guessing she either bends over and shoots water cannons at you (not likely since valve is on top) or it can be opened to jet the big sister and little sister across a level fast (which is more realistic cuz the little sister could move the valve and then not fall off cuz of her cage).

very stoked for sequel and hope it steps even closer to a 1948 novel world.
